DaGuywhodidurmaParticipanti was just thinking that the heat have the most cap space and can sign 3 max players(wade included)but they only have mario chalmers and beasly under contract. this will be a complete team overhaul. if you give max contracts to wade, bosh and joe johnson how much money will they have to spend on a starting center and point guard.
possible rotation in 011
chalmers/????
wade/????
johnson/????
bosh/beasley
no center on team/???get my point they might waste all theyr cap space and have to settle for mediocre role players. who would want to play for miami for less money and get no shots? i think everyone may have overlooked this and the heat will have to sign guys like michael finley, kwame, and kurt thomas. i know they have the MLE(mid level excemption) and the the Bianual excemption but thats only two decent players. what do you guys think? will they win it all or lose early in the playoff because of a lack of depth?

sheltwon3ParticipantThere is no way Wade stays if they don’t sign any other max guys and why would players not want to go to Miami.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipanti didnt mean players dont want to go to miami, but that miami cant afford to sign anyone else if they waste all theyr cap space on 3 guys.

llperezif they get 3 max guys, they will be contenders regardless of the rest the roster. There is a lot of solid talent out there that can had for cheap. Matt Barnes took 1 mill and started every game. Warriors got reggie williams form the d league and he looked great.
Also, I have a question maybe some of you more cap savvy can answer. If the heat sign two guys to max, that will put them around 39 million before they resign wade. Could they just then use the remaining 15 mill in cap space on whoever they want and then sign Wade to his max deal after they reach the cap limit since teams are allowed to resign their own players regardles of cap?

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipanti dont think its possibele, but can you imagine theyr payroll if they did? im not sure but if they signed two max free agents they forfeit wades birdrights therefore they cant go over the cap. same reason the knicks cant sign lebron and bosh then still keep david lee. the heat would have to sign wade first before anyone else or else hed en up playing for 15 a yr, which isnt bad but i doubt he wants to win that bad.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI’m making it a video rant and I’m posting it before July 1st…can people do math…you know…numbers and figures…on a piece of paper or computer screen…Quick lesson for idiots
The Cap is roughly 65 million…meaning you can’t go over to sign anyone but a player on your own team.
Now the Heat have 2 payer worth roughly 6 to 10 million if they resign Anthony and and Dorrel Wright…for 2 million a piece…that makes Beasley,Chalmers,Anthony and Wright on the team come July 1st…
Now lets say Bosh signs straight up to be Wades sidekick…125 Million for 5 years….25 Million dollar plus a year…that would put their cap at 35 Million…5 players and an unsigned Wade…Lets say they then sign LBJ for 125 million…25 per…..that would put their cap space at 60 Million without resigning Wade…leaving them 5 Million in cap and the MLE to get 5 or other guys to fill out the roster…don’t care who they got in the draft…they may not make the team…but lets say they do…the Heat have those rookies and the MLE to piece together a Team….now at the Cap line at 65 million in contracts…now they have to Max Wade and put them WAY over the Luxary…Miami does not sell out that arena and a “Super Team” wouldn’t win enough playoff games to offset the Hit…The Heat would tank it hard after going for broke leaves them broke…at 65 Million in their dream scenario…Wade’s deal will destroy that franchises finances…Now that the Lessons done I’ll ask…Who takes a large pay cut to be In MIA….Who ???? The Cap forbids them from going over a certain number in FA…The Teams like MIA and NY thought too hard about this without reading the fine print….Teams are only really able to pay 1 or 2 Max guys and fill the line up with cheaper talent…Now NY and MIA sold their souls to get an impossible number of stars to play for crappy teams….

sheltwon3ParticipantWade contract has a cap hold so they can only sign 3 max guys if Wade is one of them. That is only if they give up on Beasley but I doubt that happens. Right now it appears they will add one max guy and several decent but not start players for cheap to round out their roster. If they did get 3 max guys, they could sign cheap talent easy because there are a lot of bargain guys out there and there will be not be much money for them unless they sign cheap deals or go overseas.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantfirst of all lebron aint signing in miami. also from what all the insiders have been saying its either bosh and amare coming to play with wade or amare and joe johnson. if its bosh and amare bosh and wade would sacrifice a few million to make a deal even if they didnt wade and bosh would make 59 mil while amare(being a second tier free agnt) cant ask for more than 15. if its amare and johnson(the most likely scenerio) then only wade gets a max deal amare and johnson arent max players so 16 a yr will bag each one, especially after theyr horrible playoff performances in which they both proved that neither can carry a team. so it is possible thats why the heat are trying to trade beasley.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantby the way in case i didnt make it clear im not saying i want the heat to get 3 stars or anything like that i was trying to make the same point Scarecrow did, that teams made moves and gave up good talent just to get a chance to sign lebron, wade and bosh. if this doesnt work out for some of these teams theyll have to overpay for inferior talent like boozer, gay and joe johnson. which will end up costing them theyr precious cap space and theyll be stuck at being an above average team for years and regret not developing theyr own talent.
