d-grizzlyParticipantrecently the lakers resigned odom. With the addition of artest and keeping odom, the lakers look unstoppable and completely stacked. and guess what, they have the best player in the league on the team!
I’m here today, – thinking outside the box – ……. If boston is healthy, i think they may very
well be the best team in the east…by record at the end of the season 09-10. If boston keeps powe
and big baby, do they have enough to beat l.a?Boston – dominance.
* If Garnett’s healthy, pau and bynum will have more problems.
* Rondo will completely dominate any guard on the lakers except for kobe.
* Sheed is boston’s odom. he’s gonna do a lot.
* If boston retains powe and davis, it’s just too many big men for the lakers to handle.
* Last is the hunger between allen, garnett, sheed…the ollllld dudes who want another ring.
* picking up daniels was a great move to give allen rest.
* House is going to continue to hit his when-ever 3’s.
* They’ve beaten the lakers in 6. This hasn’t disapeared from either teams mind.L.a – dominance –
* Kobe….nothin more to be said about him. They won’t stop him really.
* Artest, the versatility of playing the 2,3,4, mainly the 3 and 4.
* retaining odom was huge. He’ll be coming off the bench to relieve gasol as usual.
* Pau and Bynum played excellent defense (together) on the big’s during the playoffs/finals.0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/03/2009 - 9:29am #195107

dwat4444ParticipantI still think LA’s got them. Look at the celtics team. Is there a player on their roster who you can consider athletic outside of Rondo? Sheed, KG, Perkins, and Pierce just simply aren’t athletic and active enough to guard Artest, Pau, Odom, all of whom are very active and athletic. Thats my problem. Not fast enough and too old to go the distance. But they’ll be good if their healthy. By the way you must have a very small box if this is outside of it…

BasketballGuru24ParticipantI think the Lakers are so good because of their chemistry……they don’t have a good bench unless your talking about odom. they just play in away that they are always going to win….they have the best coach in nba history in phil jackson and probably one of the greatest players to ever play the game in kobe……with them too your pretty much not going to lose. Now with artest here you have 2 all-star corner backs ( artest , kobe) …..and two 7 footers protecting the rim……thats a pretty much more scarier than seeing allen iverson play for the grizzlies

d-grizzlyParticipantsup homey, thanks for posting. i’d really like to see these 2 go at it in the finals again. To see bynum healthy and the addition of artest vs. a healthy boston with the addition of sheed. Game 7, triple overtime!

gatorheelsParticipantIts very close. Glen Davis could be the difference maker. Right now I have to give a very slight edge to the Lakers.
Rondo has the edge over Fisher but Kobe has an edge over Allen so that pretty much evens things out. Artest & Pierce are pretty even. Garnett & Gasol are even. I think Gasol has improved some since last time they went head to head in the finals. Plus KG has aged a little & the injury may hurt his game some. Bynum has an edge over Perkins. Boston has the better bench especially if Big Baby returns. Ha yeah I agree Game 7 triple ovetime. However I still like the Spurs & Magic better than both these teams.

d-grizzlyParticipantsup g. I think if boston doesn’t lose powe or big baby, then it will be just too much for the lakers to handle… especially with bynum very prone to early fouls in the 1st quarter.
Perkins, garnett, sheed, big baby, powe. 5 bigs, 6 fouls allowed each. 30 fouls total.
bynum, pau, odom, artest = 4 bigs, 6 fouls each, 24 total fouls. – mbenga and powell – i don’t consider these last two on the active roster anyway.
Powe can get himself to the free throw line at will….really if you think about this, if l.a bigs get in foul trouble early, they’re f*cked.

gatorheelsParticipantwsup
I think Powe & Big Baby are both going to leave the Celtics.

d-grizzlyParticipantdouble post*.

gatorheelsParticipantYeah I read that Cleveland wants Powe. As far as I know Boston pretty much just let him go…..they would try to resign him midseason if he is healthy & still a free agent. So I imagine a lot of teams will try to get Powe cheap. Big Baby is in a tough spot. He isn’t getting the offers he wants but I still think a team will scoop him up last minute. There are some teams that still have enough money to get him like Kings, Nets, etc.. Boston should definitely keep him but I don’t think they will be able to. This will be interesting to see what happens.

d-grizzlyParticipantyou see that other topic saying the celtics just signed shelden williams? this is terrible news for boston fans…losing powe and big baby is gonna hurt them pretty bad.

Bryant24ParticipantIm a Lakers fan we have kobe best player touching the basketball today and we have pau who can score just as much as garnett can score on him Bynum cant run with sheed shooting threes all day i dont think shannon brown can stop rondo but he can contain him and brown can score 20 on rondo i think did yall see him in his michigan days he was a beast he just a undersize two guard and he dont have playmaking skills but i think the lakers can win its just going to go seven games

UofAxWildcatsParticipantu think that gasol is more athletic than KG AND SHEED,,,come one now,,,in the finals KG outplayed Gasol!!!,,now i can see what ur talkin about with odom he a tough matcup for them but not artest or gasol,,,pierce can handle artest while kg does his thing against gasol

B-ball fanParticipantJust like he did before. A healthy Boston with an improved Rondo and Rasheed and Marquis Daniels, and more time playing together. Boston will be much better than LA. Does everyone forget the Celtics seriously outplaying LA in 2008. LA would steal a game or 2, But could not force a game 7. The Celtics play better defense and rebound better than LA. And now they are MUCH more deep.

B-ball fanParticipantHe fixes one of the Celtics biggest problems: a back-up wing.
Last year the Celtics had Eddie House, who is under 6′, back up Ray Allen, and their only other back ups were Tony Allen who is a defensive stopper who can’t shoot, struggles to finish around the hoop despite his athleticism, and Bill Walker, who is really raw, He may eventually be a good player, but right now he isn’t skilled enough. Daniels can score and is very athletic.0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/04/2009 - 4:03am #195587
pointguardfunParticipantKG ain’t athletic enough to guard Pau? dwatt you might be talking the other way around. KG pawned Pau. sorry to say.

bobsParticipantPlayers should have an affordable health insurance because its necessary. In my opinion everyone should have an insurance because health is wealth and it supports a lot.
