    I can’t ever imagine opting out of a $34 million dollar contract. Maybe with the escrow and state taxes in Massachusetts it makes more sense to sign to Dallas? Orlando? Maybe Houston on a sign and trade?

    It does seem like an odd choice. I’m thinking he has a deal with Boston to sign long term now, which would make him opt out. Or Boston said, if you opt in we have a trade set up with team X and Hayward didn’t like that destination (there was rumblings to Cleveland for Drummond). If he doesn’t resign with the Celtics, it sounds like the Hawks and Knicks are interested in him and they each have the money to spend.

      That would make sense. Sounds like some scumbag shit Danny Ainge would do hes ruthless. If you resign were gonna trade you to Cleveland and youll play backup to Cedi Osman…no thanks.
