BlackMamba24ParticipantWell the Hawks sent Acie Law and Speedy Claxton to Golden State for Jamal Crawford. Although he isn’t a pure PG he will bring a new element to the backcourt, giving Joe some help so he doesn’t have to take all the big shots. This might change there plans for the 19th pick also and we will see what they do with Bibby

Johnny_HazeltineParticipantJamal Crawford is a slightly less version of Joe Johnson. I don’t get this trade. He’s a defensive liability, who is a streaky shooter. He can go for 40 one night, then put up 14 the next. I’m not a fan.
Maybe they got a Brandan Wright in the deal. Surely Sund didn’t use his best trading tool (Claxton) to add $2.5M in payroll for a guy whom the Hawks already have.
I’m really confused.

aimeeada420Wall… and I wouldn’t even thesis | online thesis | how to write thesis think twice. Rubio has no heart, he did the T Wolves dirty and he a overrated. Wall has a chance to revolutionize the point guard position and seems like he would play for any pro team.

BlackMamba24ParticipantThey needed another guy who can create his own shot. Joe is the only guy who can create. He will be good for atlanta. All of the places he has been have not been stable and ATL will be different for him.

akintuParticipantI like the move…I think, now what to do at 19, I’ll still honestly be pissed if we take a PF or SF unless someone else is moving on Josh, Marvin….you pick

BlackMamba24ParticipantIf you dont want a SF or PF picked at 19, what do you want them to do

akintuParticipantI don’t know, is Jamal gonna start at PG? or is he the guy taking over for Joe after this year passes? either way i think a GOOD PG or SG would be nice. I honestly believe that we’re gonna part ways with Marvin so a SF would be fine….I really want us to get Danny Granger somehow.

BlackMamba24ParticipantWell i dont see us getting Granger. He is all Indiana has on the offensive end. I dont think Joe is going to leave and Jamal can play the point. I dont think you make the trade if you were planning on drafting a point. They still need depth along the frontline and backcourt, especially with all the FAs that we have

BlackMamba24ParticipantNobody has mentioned this but he does have an ETO on his contract so he could opt out of hid contract and become a free agent, so he could not even be in Atlanta at all…Which would give them even more cap space…

YOOkimaParticipantThe Houston Rockets may owe the Atlanta Hawks a first-rounder, but it’s lottery protected and the Rockets do not project to be a playoff team this coming season.
