royk927ParticipantSince all of America are picking the celtics I’m going to go with the Hawks in 6
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 1:28pm #665436

delfamParticipantcan someone explain to me how the Hawks have homecourt advantage in this game when the Celtics are the 4th seed?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 1:36pm #665438

delfamParticipantwhat’s the point in clinching a top 4 seed if u don’t get home court in the first? I don’t get it

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participantdeflam
I asked the same question, they have home-court because they have a better record. The Celtics have a better seed because they won their division. Division winners automatically clinch a top-4 seed even if their record is lower than other non-division winners.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantwell you do get a banner for winning your division
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 2:27pm #665453

FastAndFuriousParticipantThe Hawks really have a great shot to win this series
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 2:51pm #665461

Critically ThinkingParticipantthe point in winning your division is say somehow the celtics ended up finishing lower then 5th record wise in the east, they would still play in the 4-5 matchup.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:06pm #665462

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Hawks can no doubt make any series interesting against anybody but they can never stay consistent. When you think about guys like Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, and Jeff Teague, you think of inconsistency. J-Smoove can go 24 and 16 one game and go 14 and 8 the next.
Whoever wins this match-up will go to the conference finals though. I don’t see how the 76ers beat either team or a Rose-less Bulls team beat either team. I still like Boston winning the series in 6 games, maybe 7.

Zeke313ParticipantT-mac might finally win his first playoff series.

Shanetaylor95Participant^ its about time lol
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:22pm #665467

FastAndFuriousParticipantI HATE when the Hawks(Mostly Joe Johnson and Josh SMith) don’t let Jeff Teague bring the ball up, then turn it over.
GIVE HIM THE BALL HE’s THE PG!

I’m willing to say Joe Johnson and Josh Smith are better play-makers and passers than Jeff Teague.0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:27pm #665469

scbe2223ParticipantHow is Joe Johnson 0-9 from deep. Dude is making like 20 mil p/year. What an embarrassment
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:32pm #665470

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWow, what is Rondo thinking? He literally wanted to fight the referee.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:33pm #665471

scbe2223ParticipantThat is why the Celtics have been wanting to trade Rondo. He probably just lost the Celtics the series right there.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:34pm #665472

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI wouldn’t be surprised if he’s out for a game, maybe two.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:37pm #665473

For_Never_EverParticipantRondo just done Fvcked up everything.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:38pm #665474

FastAndFuriousParticipantI agree with most things you say on here, but you really think Joe Johnson and Josh Smith are better playmakers/passers than Teague?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:39pm #665475

mgreener_34ParticipantI don’t agree with Rondo in the least bit, but the Refs. really play to big a part in the NBA. They just dictate way to much, and this is going back to the Miami-Knicks game too.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:42pm #665476

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHonestly, I think Teague is more of a scoring point guard rather than a pure. I also believe Josh Smith is a very underrated passer. Obviously it is easier for Teague to make plays and pass the ball because he’s a better ball-handler but Josh Smith is one of the best passing power forwards in the league. Position-by-position, Josh Smith is a better passer than Jeff Teague. If Josh Smith was 6’3, was a point guard, and a good ball-handler, he would be a better passer than Jeff Teague.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:43pm #665477

Wahoo757ParticipantRajon Rondo played like an idiot down the stretch, and that’s putting it nicely. He didn’t close out on Teague and let him hit that wide open 3 and then got a technical which not only cost the Cs that game because of the extra free throws, but might cost them game 2 if he’s suspended. Just played like a total freaking idiot at the end.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:44pm #665478

For_Never_EverParticipantLooks like Josh Smith is going to be the real problem for the Celtics. Hopefully Bass will do a better job on checking him because I don’t think anyone else can.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:49pm #665481

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant^
I don’t think anybody can check Josh Smith when he has his jumpshot going. He’s a consistent jumpshot and better ball-handling ability away from being a 24-10-4 guy in the league.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:55pm #665483

FastAndFuriousParticipantTeague is a scoring PG,you right about that, but I still think he is more of a willing passer than Josh is, Josh is very very selfish at times, only passing when 3 defenders are on him and he forces alot of things, Teague can actually get others involved and takes care of the ball very well 5 APG to 1.8 Turnovers per game.
And as I always say I still don’t think we’ve seen the best of Teague due to him playing with Josh and Joe.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 3:58pm #665484

For_Never_EverParticipantRondo will likely be suspended for one game and likely minus Ray too. Damn Celtics !!!!!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 4:21pm #665496
NYK2010ParticipantRondo bump on ref will help put the Hawks in the ECF against the Heat.
Celtics aren’t good enough to win w/out him or win 4 out of 5 games against a younger more athletic Hawks team.
Yeah Celtics didn’t hit a 3 and Ray Allen didn’t play but Joe Johnson was awful shooting 3-15 don’t see that happening again. Hawks in 5 or 6
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/29/2012 - 5:20pm #665516
river09ParticipantI like Atlanta in this series too, just because I love how scrappy they can be. Too bad Al Horford isn’t around to help them out…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/30/2012 - 3:03am #665662

CynthiaParticipantWhat’s with Rondo lately? Especially this season, he’s balled really well but he’s been a douche in the process. I used to really love him, but I’m not a fan of these type of antics.
