high floorParticipantWhat do you guys think of the pick? I love it on multiple levels..
First: He provides spacing to a lineup that desperately needs it.
Second: Mario has a nasty, confident swag to his game. He’s not afraid
Third: Has great size & athleticism for a wing at 6’8
Fourth: He will assuredly provide some epic post game sound bites
I’ve heard the Croation J.R Smith comparisons, and I actually think that’s a reasonable floor to mid-trajectory projection for him. As a fan and sometimes foolish optomist I think he’ll be more. He doesn’t possess the off-court issues JR has, and Hezonja is reportedly the ultimate gym rat. Only cares about basketball mentality. Plus his skill-set is vital for the success and development of his new team. Will Scott Skiles give him enough minutes and allow him to play through mistakes? Will their personalities clash? If Tobias Harris is retained, will his development be stunted?
Give me the feedback people. How good of a player are we talking about here?

logicParticipantI just saw a video of super Mario on ig. He steals the ball at the elbow, starts going on the break and dribbles between the defenders legs who is waiting just before the halfcourt line. And to top it off he finishes with a monster windmill. At the very least he will be a guy who can run floor and space the floor. I love the guys attitude and confidence about his game . All star in the east is very possible if he works hard and gets stronger.

markfitz14ParticipantI think Hez eventually should start with Oladipo being the 6th man like Isaiah Thomas. To bad the wont resign Harris becuase they would be pretty good.

BornaskulParticipantBigger J.R. Smith with better work ethic and better decision making .
He really has great potential, and fits the Orlando needs (Shooting), I think it is a good pick, and he could really become a great scorer , he is full of confidence , and has NBA 3-point range .
Also he is a very good athlete .

Tune SquadParticipantDo you seriously think Victor Oladipo is going to be a sixth man in the NBA anytime in the next 10 years? Barring injury that is absurd. He is only going to improve as he himself is a very hard worker, skilled defender with growing offensive abilities and as his teammates become more talented and experienced around him that is only going to open up his game further.

Lotto StudParticipantI still feel as if Victor Oladipo will become the better version of what we all had expected out of Eric Gordon prior to those nagging injuries.

XYRYXParticipantTo be honest Mario to the Magic was the only top pick I was hoping to happen.
To me he is exactly the type of piece missing there. The athletic ability of Elfrid, Dipo, Mario, Mo and Gordon is almost insane. Ad Evan, Vuc Nicholson and O’Quinn, Frye and the other shooting rookie I forgot and you have a roster with incredible deep talent to me.
On top of that they have also cap space they should save for next summer when they know better how this team is going to pan out.
Back to Mario. I think his attitude ‘problems’ are a little bit overblown. He has a truckload of confidence and for years knows he has the talent to be one of the greatest international players for years. He clearly is an Alpha dog and I think the overall roster just fits incredible well. Wouldn’t be surprised at all of he, Dipo and Vuc all score > 17 ppg next year to be honest. My main concern or question is how he behaves and reacts if he realises, that he is not clearly the most talented player on his team anymore. What if Dipo is an All Star before him and what if he struggles early adjusting? I really really like how they are assambled now as a whole!

CoachWyersParticipantI think it was a great pick for them especially since they needed floor spacing as you said and it allows them to let Tobias Harris walk, which I think they will if he commands the max or near max deal he is looking for. Hezonja has the upside to be a good 2nd or 3rd best player on a team down the road. He has great athleticism, can shoot the ball, moves well off the ball to get open, and can get to the rim off straight line drives. Depending on what happens with Harris I think he could have a huge role right away and could potentially start since his only real competition is Moe Harkless who the Magic have seemed to sour on, but since there is a new coach you never know what his thoughts are on Harkless.
