I can admit there are times after a loss by my favorite sports team that upset me way more than it logically should. There are also times when I cuss at the TV because the team or a certain player on the team is playing like sh!t.

There are a lot of intense NBA fans on here, but I haven’t seen anyone cross a line like that. It’s one thing to sarcastically say you want the guy that is dropping 50 on your team to be "taken out," but to actually decide to threaten said player is literally insane.

I always think about Andres Escobar and the way things can escalate becuase some people take sports too seriously. Obviously nobody has been killed yet, and there is still a large leap from stupid twitter threats to actually following through, but WTF is wrong with your life that you do stuff like this?

I’m a long time Laker hater, but that has absolutely nothing to do with their families and this is just wrong.

They’re f*cking insecure p*ssies who hide behind a computer screen and think they’re tough. Seems to be like everyone on Twitter these days.

To attack a player is one thing(let’s face it they’re probably used to it…) but to attack their family is just wrong. Death threats to a players wife? It said she had to block over 500 people from viewing her account. I just don’t see how anyone, even super crazy fans can go that far. Obviously I highly doubt they would ever do anything as an above poster mentioned they’re just behind the screen badasses.

I love Twitter, but I swear it feels like a majority of Twitter users are phenomenally stupid. Everything is reactionary, no one uses their brain cells to read/comprehend things. I swear, my generation, and the generation beneath me don’t realize that what is put on the internet is put on there forever. It’s writing in permanent ink. Even if it’s there for five minutes, someone can screen cap it, and send it around. The people who participate in this sort of activity have a collective IQ of about half of Brick Tamblin from Anchorman.

Search Stan Collymore racist tweets. You’ll read stories about Joshua Cryer (went to jail in the UK for racial abuse), and can read the racist tweets Stan gets.

My personal motto: If I am truly upset about something, log off the computer, turn off the IPhone, occupy my time with something else (usually working out/playing ball, reading or movies) to get my mind off of it.

I am not supporting these people and think twitter is stupid however how can you not expect to have issues like this. With twitter you can annonymously interact with celebrities all over the world. I am sure people like Kim Kardashian and other hoBags get threats like this all the time but don’t make a big deal out of it and get all butthurt. With 6 billion+ people in the world someone is always going to do something stupid. I just can’t believe this is only becoming a story now because I am sure it has been going on since Twitter oringinated. The only difference is that Steve Blake brought it up to the media and now everyone is all of a sudden apalled.
