OhCanada-ParticipantMiami signed Hassan Whiteside. Hes been averaging in the d league 22-ppg, 16-rpg in 28-mpg shooting 85%. I think hes going to carve out a role. I remember we were going loopy when he was at Marshall but it turned out his ball iq and decision making were beyond terrible. Has he matured?

RUDEBOY_Participanthe’s worked on his upper body since college..but he’s still raw offensively… he’s an excellent shot blocker and runs the floor well……with birdman suffering an ankle injury yesterday..miami needs another big that can defend….
he should send thank you cards to kalin lucas, damien wilkens and diante garrett for helping him look good..that trio is averaging almost 20 assists a game…

HitsterParticipantThe guy was briefly number 1 for the 2011 mock draft on this site with the reasoning being that if he remained in college another year, his game should mature. However he declared for 2010 draft and fell down the board, the Kings took a low risk high upside punt on him and offered him a 4 year deal. Only two were guaranteed and eventually after injury he was waived in 2012.
I was surprised he has not played an NBA game since then maybe him being on Memphis’ roster briefly and being mentioned on here playing abroad kept him in my mind.
He’s 25 years old now so as Rudeboy said he’s managed to bulk out a bit and probably deserves another shot at the NBA. Look at Alex Ajinca of NOP, he was drafted did very little went away to Europe and got another chance in the NBA.
Teams will always consider decent defensive guys so Whiteside could have an NBA future. He will have a set role and his offensive game won’t be what Miami have signed him for but the more he can work on it the better his NBA chances going forward.

Jr. ROXASParticipantThe Cavs should sign somebody like him next. Doesn’t matter if a d-leaguer or not a household name, they need someone to protect the paint bad.

kanuflengParticipantI was excited with this guy’s potential when he entered the draft. Great length and Athleticism too bad he didnt pan out. Good thing is his coming back. Maybe a McGee without being a regular in Shaq-a-fool?
