Malachi Richardson reportedly said that he will only stay in the draft if he is guaranteed a first round selection. Richardson has made the decision to leave his name in the draft per hoopsrumors.com. Does this mean Malachi actually got a promise from a team? If so who do you think it was?

I’d gladly give him a promise. He is the type of player who would come back to Cuse for his sophomore year, get stronger and become a top 15 pick.

So if I’m picking late and I want guard potential- I’d gladly give him a promise. If I want big man potential then I take Maker or Diallo.

If I’m Richardson and I don’t get a top 15 promise- I go back to school.

To answer your question, I would put my money on Boston or Phili. Both have multiple 1st rounders and both could use a taller/scoring 2 guard. Boston has Bradley but he is stronger defensively than offensively, plus I don’t have any faith in Young or Hunter ever being a starter.

I don’t know if the Jazz gave him a promise but they interviewed him and really liked him so they are a possibility.

Sounds like a wasted 1st round pick to me.  Dude is like Nick Young without the athleticism.

I really like Malachi and think he could definitely go in the back half of the lottery. He improved so much over the course of the year and IMO has the tools to be a complete package as a SG

Both teams have multiple 1st round picks, Philadelphia could certainly use him and Richardson could develop into a starter by the end of his rookie season (only has Hollis Thompson and Nik Stauskas in front of him on the depth chart)

If he canshoot the ball from deep or come off the bench and score points in bunches then I would love to take the chance with the 24th pick, hell may even try to move up if possible (I’m still holding out hope that we can land a G like Fournier in Free Agency)
