MakarosParticipantRight after his workout with the Wizards, Harrison Barnes cancelled his scheduled workout with the Kings that was going to happen on Friday.
Does this mean he has a top 4 promise or he’s overly confident at this point?

Lotto StudParticipantHe must have a guarantee for him to shutout a top 5 team in the lottery. As of right now I have him going to the Bobcats.

HitsterParticipantI’d assume that he must have a promise, he doesn’t seem the sort of guy who would have an ego with working out for a team well within his draft range

bloodshyParticipantI recently read that "Barnes’ camp" wants him to go to a big market. So, in lieu of a promise, it’s possible he just doesn’t want to go to Sactown. He’s definitely a good kid, but everyone has their preferences. Last year he was a lock as a top 5 pick. If he has a strong preference for a big city, walking away from a draft where Minnesota, Utah and Ohio were his most likely destinations makes sense.
In the end, I would not be surprised if his cancellation was purely because of a promise, but there may be other possibilities.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantand scared Cousins might kick his a$$. It is no way Thorton, Evans, Barnes and Cousins can coexist, especially if Jimmer is coming off the bench with another shoot first ( all 3’s too) guy in Fran Garcia. I think and have said Barnes is the second best pro prospect in my opinion ( He will end his career as the leading scorer of this draft, only competition in that regard is T. Rob, IMO ). But he is a gun and a jump shooting gun at that. So are those other 5 of the 9 man rotation players that are mentioned above. Good Tyreke is a driver Bad Tyreke is "shoot to mucher".
Bloodshy there was a article about Barnes camp and his brand a while back, that is on his radar. ( And it should be D Rose got 94 from Bulls and 250 from Addidas). Sac might end up in LA or Vegas in the future but regardless their a mess and gave the team to Cousins when they fired Westphal.
I bet Golden State at 7 said there is no way we let u pass, and there moving to San Fran a untapped market. On MLB 08 or something I remember it saying San Frans median income is 69,000. Highest in country. I am a Clevelander and unfortunately ours is 26,000 a year.

r377ParticipantYeh Barnes would hate the Kings – just not enough shots there for him with Evans, Thornton and Cousins

r377Participanti have also read somewhere that beal would only work out for the top 4 teams…. Maybe its an agents idea to try and get them drafted higher ?

GrandmamaParticipantI really think he’s Charlotte’s guy. They need all the scoring they can get, and Barnes is probably the best offensive prospect in the draft. By all accounts he’s a hard working kid with a tremendous work ethic and attitude. He’d be a great fit in Charlotte.

omphalosParticipantThat is really great news for Barnes, any of the teams picking 2-4 would be a great situation for him from a basketball standpoint.
2 – Charlotte; gets to be the franchise player, will get playing time immediately and would have hometown support. Would be able to take his lumps the first season and lose a lot of games like Durant did to secure a high draft pick and running mate in next year’s draft.
3 – Washington; gets to play with a pass-first PG in John Wall who will take some of the pressure off in terms of creating his own shot and being the franchise saviour. Plus he fills a team need at SF and would bring much needed outside shooting to the Wizards.
4 – Cleveland; is good friends with Irving, and would be able to thrive in a second-option situation in Cleveland. The Cavs also have a team need at SF and a young nucleus of Irving, Thompson and Barnes would look great. Plus, a late first round pick could net them a quality role player to hold down the middle.
Sacramento would have been a good fit too, but wherever he goes in the top 4, I’ll be making a point to watch him play as often as possible.
