OhCanada-ParticipantDoes anybody else feel like a team could force Harrison Barnes into that SG position due to a lack of SG in the upcoming draft? Minnesota drafted Wes Johnson who has a much worse skillset for the SG position then Harrison, and they turned him into a SG. Many versatile wings like Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson are capable of playing both wing positions. What do you think?

M-DYMESParticipantI can def. see it as long as his team has a PG with strong ball handling abilities. As long as your not relying on him to bring the ball up the court at times and conduct the offense, then he can def play SG. He has the jumper, size, and is quick and athletic enough to keep up with most SGs in the league.

The lake show2I think he has the potential ability to play SG ala Joe Johnson

JoeWolf1Yeah, I would consider him a two position player with SG and SF, and I dont think it’s something he’d have to ease into, he could play both as a rookie.

HitsterParticipantHe has the size and the basketball IQ to play SG and at his age lack of speed should not be an issue. A lot will depend on who drafts him but if he is eased in like other rookies then he might see minutes at both positions from the bench.
It may take a while to find his natural NBA position and if he is seen as being an excellent complimentary player who can make a team better rather than the sort of player who can transform a team on his own eg KD and D-Rose then it may be he plays the best position for the team.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantPaul George plays the 2 for the Pacers and I think he and Barnes are alot alike as far as size and skills..

B FreeParticipantNow adays 2s-3s are almost interchangeable on the wings offensively its on the defensive end where the team that drafts him might need to already have a defensive minded SF.
