BubblebuttParticipantI’m not sure if anybody watched Tyler Hansbrough. I watched him do a three point play and you could see the hunger in his eyes. I will probably get flack for this but it’s bugged me for awhile. Everybody seems like they want to get on the Blake Griffin lottery plane but I see Blake as a Shane Battier type of player. He will be drafted high and will be a top end useful role player. Not to take anything away from Shane, he’s a perfect fit for Houston. They don’t real off 22 game win streaks and push the Lakers to the brink without having some serious skills. If you don’t believe me, check out the speech Battier gave before game four. I think you know how that game turned out. Griffin is explosive but I don’t know the impact he will have in the L he won’t hurt a teams chances. I don’t know why nobody’s talking about Danny Green. I saw him play and he has a solid 3 point shot and at 6’3 he would be a great point guard. If you can turn Ron Harper into a point guard why not Danny Green? Tyler Hansbrough has won almost every award you can give a collage athlete, I feel like they gave Griffin an award just cause they felt sorry for him.

ucantcheckmejdj3ParticipantBlake Griffin = Shane Battier?
Danny Green = a great 6’3″ point guard?
Griffin winning awards cuz they felt sorry for him?please lay down the crack pipe and step away

BubblebuttParticipantGreen would be great as a 6’3 point guard. Blake could be over rated. Why had no one picked a number one pick until recently. You can hype Griffin if you want to. I’m just saying there was Sam Bowie but I’m sure he’s just waiting in line to get in the hall of fame.(Sam Bowie was a number one pick who never paned out in the L).

UNC4eva8806ParticipantTyler Gets knocked on this site by every user every chance they get, but look at Kevin Love!!! Kevin was listed at 6’7 3/4 at the pre draft camp and has less Athleticism than Tyler (ASK KENNY GEORGE) And doesn’t play with no where near the heart Tyler plays with… Blake Griffin has great talent, but can Tyler get some credit from some one!!! OH YEAH Danny Green is Actually 6’6 and can be the next Scottie Pippen in the right situation with his length, range, and defensive pressence

bdoody42ParticipantTyler is not near the prospect Kevin Love was. Tyler plays with a lot of passin, but can he do that for an 82 games season. I see Tyler as a later first round pick, because this draft lacks quality big men. I think he can be quality backup for the right team. And as for Danny Green being the next Scottie Pippen, that is so far off base I will not get into it.

BubblebuttParticipantUN whatever you should be giving major props to Tyler Hansbrough. Do you think Tyler wouldn’t start on Memphis. Imagine this
Mark Gasol
Tyler Hansbrough
Rudy Gay
O.J. Mayo
Mike Conley0

ucantcheckmejdj3Participantlook im a unc fan myself, i just don’t think blake griffin is overrated and was given awards because people felt sorry for him.
i like danny green’s game a lot, but not as a 6’3 pg, hes a 6’5/6’6 wing who i think would be a good addition to a lot of teams in the late 1st/early 2nd round, dude can really shoot the rock and play d.
and as for hansbrough, he can step in right away be a quality big man coming off the bench for 20-25 mins a game.

rvirsalParticipantdanny green is 6’6 and plays sf (kinda far from pg dontcha think?) also, sam bowie was number 2 and not 1. i think tyler hansbrough can be a decent player in the nba. he won’t be a star imho. he’d be a haslem if he continues on working hard and if he bulks up more. his lack of athleticism could be made up by being stronger than other pfs.
also, blake’s going to be a star barring any major injury. he’s strong, athletic and he’s quick. he looks like a young karl malone imho. hansbrough can be the next shane battier if he works on his perimeter defense and outside shooting (he’s hardworking anyway).

Hoop FreakZParticipantTo start off, Sam Bowie was the second pick in the 1984 draft, right in front a guy named Jordan who you might have heard of, and his career was destroyed due to injuries.
Danny Green is wing player, who is I think could be a solid, but not great, role player like the position he played with North Carolina his whole college career. but no where near the ability of Pippen.
Psycho T major problem is his lack of athleticism. His passion and hard work is obvious but he will have a tough time making a transition to the league because he will need more than hard work going up againist the most talented players in the world.
I dont Griffin won all those awards because they felt sorry for him but because he averaged 22.7 points and 14.4 rebounds a game. IS THAT GOOD?

bdoody42ParticipantHansbrough reminds me of Eduardo Najera. They are both undersized, and not the type of athlete you need to be to succeed in the league. He will hustle and crash the boards. If he can develop a little more range he could become better then Najera. Tyler will never be like Battier, he doesn’t have the lateral quickness needed to guard wing players on the perimeter. Tyler will make a career in the NBA I think, but it won’t be one as a star or problay even as a starter.

bdoody42ParticipantIf was mine please compare Hansbrough to a NBA Player, please! THis should be good.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 5:20am #150873
eprizzle14ParticipantHansborough is 1 part David Lee, 1 part Boozer, 2 parts Madson. Worthy of a 1st rounder IMO.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 5:34am #150876
bdoody42ParticipantI want to know who he will be like not cmobos of people. I would really like to hear what Davis up there has to say.
Ed Davis will be better then Tyler in the NBA.0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 5:35am #150877
ch15r36isParticipantThe original post was the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.
1 part D-Lee, 1 part Boozer, 98 parts Madsen.0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 5:49am #150882
bdoody42ParticipantPeople get crazy ideas when players from their favorite school enter then NBA draft. Sad thing is to me he didn’t even mention their best 2 people who entered the draft.
Ty Lawson I feel can come in right now and run an uptempo offense such as, Knicks, Suns, Warriors.
Wayne Ellington I feel can as come in and be a shooter off the bench for a quality team. I think he will go somewhere in the 20’s. Teams such as Spurs, Hornets, and Rockets.Danny Green being Scottie Pippen made me fart when I laughed to be honest.

cprizz15Participantridiculous!! i feel like im reading the same thing for the millionth time, and some of these things being said are just dumb
i’ll start with blake griffin, nobody wins player of the year cause they feel bad for him. thats just my opinion but he did average like 23 and 14.. thats pretty sick.
and sure lets just make danny green a pg, it doesnt work like that bro and your off by like three inches. hes good right where hes at, a very poor mans pippen.
also instead of comparing hansbrough and griffin to Shane Battier (he’s a small forward you all know right? hes about 6’5-6’6, not 6’8-6’10) maybe danny green could fit that comparison a little better.
i just dont believe goofy ass hansbrough could chase a player like kobe around a court all night playing pretty legit defense..0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 8:12am #150923
UNC4eva8806ParticipantHow could danny green be compared to Shane Battier??? Yeah they both play great D and have range beyond the 3, but Danny Green is on another level in the athleticism department!!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 8:31am #150925
cprizz15Participanti said he fits the comparison a little better. he has a lot more similarities to battier than the other two guys, they dont have to be identical, theres been a lot more retarded things said on this post than what i said. i could see green finding a role on an NBA team that would be very similar to battier (primary defender and a little bit of scoring, not to mention they are both good shooters) like the idiot who started this said he should play pg. and just cause greens a superior athlete to battier what does that make it a bad comparison?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 8:46am #150928

sheltwon3ParticipantThis post was retarded. I was like is this a joke. Someone has to be playing around or either young. I am not trying to offend but come on not only do you knock Griffin a very skilled and hard working player who is set to be number one and said to be the only sure thing in the draft. You don’t even know the height of one of the players on the same thing as the guy you are trying to hype up. Some of you vets school this kid please.

Meditated StatesParticipantNothing to say on this. What?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/17/2009 - 12:23pm #150992
Skywalker ThomasParticipantWhile i don’t think he’s the most skilled person at his position you can’t teach heart and he has a lot of that, i think he will find his way in the nba not a first rounder to me but he’ll be ok he’s a TARHEEL.
