OhCanada-ParticipantAnyone know about this? He signed January 7th, practifed with the team and is now sitting on the bench vs. Auburn. With all the strict regulations the NCAA imposes on student athletes how is this possible that a player enrolls halfway through the srason and a scholorship is accepted. I knew Diallo wanted to enter his name.in.the 2017 draft but I didnt expect him to be playing this soon.

JordanC20ParticipantHe won’t be playing most likely…I think he joined Kentucky just to learn and then enter the draft

holefillers1ParticipantDifferent kind of situation. I remember Jarnell Stokes did something similar with Tennessee. He ended up playing right away that year. Not sure how the red shirt process works in this case. but if he shows out in practice I bet he plays. Especially if he is looking to go pro.

BasterdInABasketParticipantHe’s supposed to be using his redshirt this semester and playing full time next year. I read that Austin Wiley on Auburn basically did the same thing in December but started playing immediately.

holefillers1ParticipantNot a bad move by coach Cal. Bring in another all American to practice with the team.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantYeah he is practicing with the team and learning the offense. I doubt he plays this year unless someone gets hurt. But he is looking at the draft. He prolly will stay and play next season. His family situation is difficult I heard. His Mom works like 3 jobs so If scouts hear he is doing good and he gets good NBA feedback then I can see him going pro in June. Hami needs to work on his jumpshot. He reminds me a lot of Jerry Stackhouse without the consistent jump shot

losnopesosParticipantGood example of Cal showing the players that it’s them that makes this whole thing spin. If you’ve got a spot on your roster, why not give the kid a chance to be around a championship, professional environment?

SmooveKRYPTParticipantYou can enroll after the fall semester and be good to play as long as you meet all the requirements and take the neccessary Winter units. Remember Dante Exum was debating on playing half a season of college ball or just staying in over in AUS the year he got drafted.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThis happens a lot I remember Bill Walker being the first big name prospect to do it.
Dennis Smith did it but was hurt. Most of the time the players do it to play tho its possible Diablo is simply too raw to crack the rotation
