The Cavs is now hacking Drummond in the last minutes of the game. Not a bad idea but this was a good game to watch before they do this

Finished with 29 and 11. Get this man minutes! He is so damn productive. When he gets 25+ minutes in a game he averages 13.3 ppg 10.4 rpg and 1.9 bpg

yet people here still like the way the coach is bringing him slowly.. not sure why, he’ a beast in the making, the team sucks right now, bench Charlie V and Maxiel and give him atleast 25 to 30 minutes common now…

what you guys dont realize is that this could be lawrence frank’s plan all along…to limit his minutes and make him hungry for playing time…make him give it his all. you guys do rmbr you are talking about a guy who was questioned constantly about his motivation to get better and try on the court…i think what the pistons staff are doing with his minutes is very smart. you dont want to just give a rook his minutes for free. try taking your dog and locking it up in a cage for years…then one day open that shit….result? you get a monster

It makes sense. Can you imagine how big of a monster he’ll be if he works on his post moves this offseason?

Yeah I agree that they should continue to bring Drummond along slowly; it’s a lost season, no need for him to add wear and tear playing big minutes for no reason.

This reminds me of what Indiana was doing with Lance Stephenson; you had a guy who was really talented but with a need for an attitude adjustment, and after two years of limiting his minutes he emerged as a decent starting calibre player.

Nothing wrong with bringing rookies along slowly if they need it; Drummond needs to work on his fundamentals, and fundamentals get lost in big minutes.

Not playing Drummond alongside Monroe also means that he’ll be given the ball in the post more often, because he won’t be competing with Monroe for touches.

Also, I think the Hack-a-Player strategy should be reserved for big games; when you’re a bad FT shooter, you always shoot worse when you shoot them infrequently, because they have so much pressure on them, but if teams start deliberately fouling you, you take enough shots in a short enough time that the pressure of missing becomes less and less. It’s basic acclimatisation at work; better for a big guy to dread FTs than to be exposed to them, find a rhythm and then get over it.

I mean, I haven’t heard of anybody hacking Dwight since he shot a ridiculous amount against Orlando a while back, and with a good percentage too.

ill never forget that post i had last season saying that if the pistons got drummond i would be J*%($*ing my pants… i really thougth there was no way we wouldve gotten him… ive been saying on here that its smart to bring him along slowly.. hes just 19 and is already a man child… 29 and 11 vs any team for a 19 yr 6’11” rookie is pretty crazy … i finally have something to look foward for the future… a monroe drummond front court is so lethal
