I don’t know if everyone does but I have a few guys that i secretly root for. They’re usually people that I followed closely in college. A few that I root for but won’t talk about here include Tyler Honneycutt, Nate Wolters, Tony Mitchell, Kemba Walker, Patrick Patterson, and a couple more. But the guy i wanna talk about is Jimmer. Idk why but I have always wanted him to be successful. He won’t get that chance in Sac Town so I’m gonna list a couple places i think he could be good.

Chicago – he could come off the bench and provide shooting and a different look for defenses. He would be an upgrade over Teague at the PG spot and would provide something to the SG spot that the Bulls desperately need; shooting. He could run off screens, pin-downs, and even the occasional pick and roll to keep defenses honest. Would never be a starter because of his inability to defend SGs like Jimmy Butler does but he could carve out a role for himself.

Philly – Playing beside a huge PG is the dream of every small SG. MCW is big enough to switch with Jimmer on defense and guard the taller SGs and let Jimmer deal with smaller PGs. Also, with MCW and Evan Turner being “ball dominate” players, they could really use a guy that just makes shots. Jimmer doesn’t need the ball long to be effective. Run him around on offense and have him distract players and when they decide not to guard him, he will make them pay.

Utah – going home is always great but it makes it even sweeter when you can go home and challenge for a starting job. On a team as devoid of shooting and PGs as the Jazz, Jimmer would be a welcome sight. He could start until Burke recovers and then if he hasn’t proved his worth, he can go to the bench and still provide shooting while being the hometown hero.

Who do you secretly root for and where do you think they could be successful.

I’m really rooting for Eric Bledsoe. It just seems as if he’s always been on the back burner. He was a 5-star going into college yet everybody just talked about Wall, Cousins, and Patterson. Hell, even Orton got headlines over Bledsoe.

Then when he got to the NBA, he started a good chunk of the season for the Clippers and in his 2nd year, he was seemingly a lock to be the starting PG but then Chris Paul was acquired as well as Billups and Mo Williams was still playing big minutes.

Last season he had a mini breakout and this season, we should continue to see him improve. Especially since he’s the #1 option on this Suns team.

jr smith, nick young, marshon brooks, jordan Crawford, Michael Beasley all because they play very recklessly and take bad shots. defense is not necessary for me to like you, I pretty much like coach’s nightmares. when these guys are hot they can go toe to toe with much higher level players and those are my absolute favorite games.

O.J. Mayo is probably my biggest one. I’ve always liked him as a player and just want him to succeed.

Jerryd Bayless. Spent a year of elementary school with him (I was in first grade he was in kindergarten), played against him in high school, highly rated in on of the greatest classes in recent history and still hasn’t lived up to it but has found his place in the league.

Bill Walker is my other guy, always overshadowed by teammates. OJ Mayo in high school and Beasley in college, if it weren’t for injury he’d still be in the league.

Scottie Reynolds, he is not in the NBA, but I am still rooting hard for him.
Kenneth Faried, I loved watching him at Morehead State and then seeing him have success in the NBA.
Peyton Siva, I love how hard he plays and I have loved watching him at louisville.
Chris Copeland, his perseverance is amazing, he went from playing in front of a 1,000 people a night in Belgium to being a quality role player in the NBA.
Rick Rubio, I love watching his passing, it is incredible.

Yogi Ferrell. Because it’s obvious Tom Crean doesn’t have another point guard for this year. Or next year.

I support and try to follow most guys from the DMV area. Durant, Ty Lawson, Melo, Thomas Robinson, Mike Beasley, Rudy Gay. Oladipo is the most recent.

Faried, Kawhi, Jeff Green, Hayward, Adams and Nate Robinson. I always go with guys who have a strong motor.

Nate is a journey man now but what this guys achieved beeing so short is very underrated to me.

Kawhi will end up beeing a multiple All Star and All NBA Defensive team. Beeing with one of the best organisations in pro sports won’t hurt him too.

from UCF. Always loved his athleticism and shot making ability. Never really found a way to stick. Lester Hudson- One of the great stories of turning ones life around after most have written you off. Still on the fringes, but very obviously an NBA caliber player.
