    Sportando passed along a report from an unknown source on Friday stating that Gustavo Ayon is leaving the NBA for Regal Barcelona of the Euroleague.

    Sportando added that Regal Barcelona bought his Spanish Basketball League rights from Baloncesto Fuenlabrada to facilitate the deal. While Sportando has passed along credible leads in the past, we have no clue who the source is here. We’re taking a wait-and-see until we get the Magic to weigh in on this, but if Ayon does go then Nikola Vucevic becomes the favorite to play big minutes at center in Orlando

    As a Magic fan I wouldn’t lose sleep over losing him. If he doesn’t wanna be part of the team then so be it. Give the minutes to Vucevic & OQuinn at the C position who actually are still young with “upside”.

     why would ayon leave the NBA?, does Barcelona offer larger money?

    clearly every basketball’s player dream is to play in the NBA, its where all the great talents from the world play

       I think Ayon would have a larger role, on a better team with similar pay in a country he’s more comfortable living in.

      He’s actually a pretty nice player. Great in the pick n roll, has a good motor, high IQ and is a good passer.  He could be a star on a good team in Europe, but just a reserve on a bottom feeder team in the NBA.

         i think he would be the starter over mirotic first, although its true that Orlando would really suck this year

           The article says that his rights were bought by Barcelona Regal. Mirotic plays for Real Madrid.

          Orlando isn’t just gonna suck this year. They’re gonna suck for a number of years unless they make a big splash in FA.

    I guess its not a huge deal compared to losing Howard for not much in return but now you dont even get a serviceable center to replace your second best player from last year, gonna be a llooooonnnggg year in Orlando.
