AusBobParticipantLast year I posted to ask if it was possible for GSW to obaitn Iggy via trade and the response I got from most was basically ‘near impossible’. Yesterday I was watching the MIN and GSW game and thought that if K, Love P&R with S. Curry with K.Thompson and other shooters set up to catch &shoot in cruch time, it would create a very hard matchup for most teams in the league to effectivelt defend.
Therefore, I went to ESPN trade machine to check it out and this is the idea i came up with.
GSW obtains K.Love & G. Dieng or R. Hummel
MIN obtains D.Lee & H. Barnes & D.Green & Draft pick or Trade execptions (MIN could use this to get a defensive C/PF to help out Pekovic).
Both teams seem to be able to improve for this trade. MIN wont lose KLove for nothing.
Would some insider be able to express their opinion on this trade idea please?
Thank you

goldie92689ParticipantMy opinion is your a GSW fan. Loves value to MN is more than what you are offering, at the same time for gsw Lee is more than a resonable facsimile of Love’s production and impact. Lee is double double guy with ball skills and range out to 22 feet. Love is a double double guy with ball skills and range out to 25 feet. I’ll never have to give Lee a max deal..

CrossyboyParticipantIt seems whenever anyone puts up any trade for any reason the negs rain down.
This seems like a good trade for both sides, assuming of course that Love wants to leave. As you say, Lee can offer a lot of what Love does, whilst Barnes has future all-star potential.
Personally, I’d take the rest of the filler out. Not sure GSW can afford to lose Lee, Green & Barnes from their front-court. Without the filler, Green can cover at Barnes at SF.
It is a lot to offer, but getting a superstar costs and history shows that it’s usually worth it.

JD’s_TimberpuppiesParticipantI don’t mind this trade. Love is better than Lee, make no mistake about it but this is mostly due to age. Lee can actually make moves down and the block and is much more athletic than Love. Love obviously can shoot the three better and rebound and get to the line more. I also think Barnes can be an All-star he just isn’t going to be able to play the way he wants. Even before the Warriors acquiring Iggy he still couldn’t have the ball in his hands enough or get the shots he needed. Iggy is a point forward and can play off the ball, he’s a very unselfish player and fits perfect with their team.
Wolves after this trade: Two more athletic players to run the court with Ricky. At this point Rubio is what he is, the more athletic players to run up and down the court with him the better Ricky and this team will be. I’ve posted before on how I do not think Love and Pek can play together, they have to get an athletic big who can protect the rim. Although they do not get that player in this trade it leaves the door open for them to fill that slot either now or in the future by trade or signing.
Warriors after this trade: They make out great. Although they give up two players, one is a stud already and one could be. They are basically tossing in Barnes as he isn’t utilized on this team. Love gives them tenacious rebounding on both ends of the court and will space the court on a squad that already has 2 deadly shooters. This would put them in consideration for being a title contention.
What will define this trade is how well Barnes becomes. Also whether or not the Wolves could turn around and move Lee for that rim protector they covet so much. Larry Sanders comes to mind as someone who could play alongside Pek. With the Bucks in disarray and lacking consistency I wonder if they would be interested in Lee now opening the door for a possible 3 team trade. Will be interesting to see what happens here over the next few weeks with Love as he has a lot more value now than he will next year. If Flip has been assured by Kevin that he is in it for the long haul they should keep him but I highly question that.

bankjungParticipantThis trade is interesting , but as i know GSW 1st round draft avaliable 2016 or 2018 and more
because utah hold 2014 of 1st round GSW and I remembered the rule as Team cannot skip 1st round trade for 3 year.
So i think(it’s my opinion) , Minnie cannot deal with the draft it’s not attraction for them0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/27/2014 - 12:47am #865499
