Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantMaybe got away with a travel there but it’s preseason. He looks to be in decent shape, much better shape than I thought he’d be in at this stage. If Oden can get healthy and give the Heat 15 MPG throughout the playoffs, the Heat are going to be tough to beat.

GronounoursParticipantWell, if God really decides to bless or not to bless people, He seems to hold a terrible grudge against Oden. Why would He change His mind now?

LA12ParticipantI’m rooting for Oden, big time, even as Trailblazer fan. I always wanted him to dominate the league. I know he won’t anymore, but I think that he could be a solid contributor.
What do you think he can peak at now? I think he could still possibly become a 12/9/2 guy with playing time. It’s sad, because in 2007 we were talking about a guy who could’ve realistically came into the pros and become a 23/14/3 guy by this time.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI like to think he can be a 12/11/2 guy. Defensive anchor on a team and maybe even a 1st/2nd All Defensive Team selection or two

A Lil EnglishParticipantIf his body allows him to play 15 mins a game, he needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble first before he averages double digits in anything. I don’t think he ever mastered that in Portland whenever he did get a run of games.

JoeWolf1I’m rooting for Oden whole heartedly, but he’s gotta walk before he can run. No way I’m assuming he’s going to be on any All-NBA teams at this point. I think a realisitic starting point for him would be to play the role Asik played when he was with Chicago.
I hope Greg can come off the bench and provide tough D and maybe put up 4 ppg 4 rpg with a block in 15 minutes. His ceiling at this point is so hard to peg, but I wish him nothing but the best.

ChrispyParticipantI hope he can stay healthy, but I was so nervous watching him out there. I found myself watching every step he took simply because I was scared something would happen to him. He has been through a lot at a young age. Keep in mind that he has a lot of money in the bank and didn’t need to do this. He did this because he wanted to and he wanted to prove he could. That is admirable and honorable. Wish him luck… But man will I be nervous for him every time he sets foot on the court!

phila9012ParticipantIf he just guards and boxes out roy hibbert for 15 minutes a game in the playoffs, he is worth it. Hibbert destroyed Chris Bosh badly in the play offs.

Professor RozayParticipantIt was good to see him out on the court. He is working very hard to make a come back and you have to respect that. I hope he can stay health and play ball this year. But if he can stay health he can help this team win.

HitsterParticipantGreat to see Big Greg back, when they had to mop the court before the game, I was thinking, just hope he doesn’t slip on that. 4 minutes isn’t much to judge him on but just to see him back on an NBA court is great as most of us feared it would not happen.
Coach Spol will give him minutes when he can and I think that the first month they will take it cautiously as we have to see how Greg will react to back to back games even if he is only playing limited minutes. The big test will come when they pitch Greg into a game to do a specific match up due to his size against someone like D12, Roy Hibbert etc.
With the Heat’s strength they will likely have a few games sown up in the 4th quarter so Greg may get some good garbage minutes to help get him back up to speed.
But welcome back Greg after 1217 days way if my calculation is right.
