Wow It’s been announced Greg Monroe is signing a Max contract with the Bucks. Wow did anyone see this coming.
I’ve heard a lot of chatter about him landing in Boston or the Knicks. But not this.

Good for the bucks. It’s pretty crazy to see how well this team is doing under new ownership compared to how the Kings are doing, who got new ownership around the same time as Milwaukee. Jabari was a no brainer, but they hired Kidd, drafted Giannis at 15, drafted Henson, got Middleton. They’ve done, pretty much all the right moves, and they are going to be one of the best teams in the east(not saying much) as a result. Their only mistake was likely trading Knight for MCW. You can’t hit on everything though.

I think MCW passing was needed more than Knights shooting. I consider Knight to be a Jason terry type player score first pass later.

I am with the Stache and have been since they made that trade. Giannis and MCW both can’t shoot. You can’t have two players on the perimeter playing big minutes that can’t shoot. Look at what GS did with just Tony Allen playing big minutes on the perimeter in the playoffs.

With Jabari coming back and adding Monroe those are guys who will get a lot of attention and get guys open outside shots….the only problem is Middleton will be the only guy playing big minutes on the perimeter shooting a high percentage.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Giannis hitting 34+% from 3 this year.  MCW is a long shot, but we’ll see.  He shot it well from mid-range with the Bucks.  If he can consistently do that, there’s no reason he can’t eventually move it out a couple feet.

Giannis shot 7/44 from 3 last season. If he shoots 34% plus I would imagine he will be about 7/20 for the season. As of right now those are two players who can’t shoot. You can improve your jumpshot but both them have quite a way to go.

He will probably never be a good shooter but I can see him becoming smarter and more polished and playing to his strengths. Not every player has to do everything. If he can limit turnovers, play good defense, and finish around the rim he can certainly be an effective player in the league.
