afree15ParticipantHonestly think heshould be an all-star over Hibbert (doesn’t matter though because i bleed hoya grey). Recently he has just been tearing it up, last night had 30 and 14, and the game before was 3 assists shy of a triple double. I feel that he has a real future ahead of him. I may sound crazy but if I were to start a team he would be my second choice for a center, obviously behind Dwight. Your thoughts….

Chilbert arenasParticipantYou may have an argument there, but I don’t want to see either of them in the ASG. Both are slow bigs that are nailed to the floor.

PrometheusParticipantMonroe should absolutely have been an all star over Hibbert. Im assuming Hibbert got the nod because the Pacers are wayyyyyyy better than the Pistons, 21-12 to 11-24 respectively.
I think you can argue between Bynum and Monroe for 2nd best center to start a franchise around. I would take Monroe though because he is a little younger and hasn’t had Bynum’s injury problems.

CodySLCParticipantAll you have to do is look at there teams records. The Pacers are getting W’s so they had to have an allstar. Monroe will have his day as an allstar tho.

aamir543ParticipantI like Monroe’s potential for the future, you could definatly argue that he should have been chosen over Hibbert, but the team record obviously played into the decision.
However for the the future, I belive that he will definatly be a an All-Star in the future if he keeps this up.

Zeke313Participant@chilbert arenas Actually Greg is quite agile for his size. He’s arguably one of the nimblest big men-end to end in the league. I’ve seen him strip Evan Turner mid dribble, take the ball the length of the court, and finish the break on his own. Now his athleticism is a whole different story though BUT he made a couple highlight dunks this season so he’s improving,

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantWhen the team is as bad as Detroit is, he doesn’t deserve it no matter the numbers. I have always loved Monroe’s game, and I think that Lawrence Frank is starting to get them to play some defense which is only going to speed up their rebuilding. With Monroe, Knight, and Jerebko buying in, they might win a few more games after the break. Not this year.
As for building a team, maybe but it might be a stretch. I think there would be arguments for Cousins (so talented but so crazy), Bynum, the two Gasols (Pau is older but still so good), and of course the great ones named Ekpe Udoh and Bismack Biyombo. Monroe is such a smart and skilled player, and there is nothing better than playing with a big man that can both lead the team in scoring or assists.

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantThis guy is really ballin in Detroit. Haven’t seen a national broadcast for the pistons for a while. The pistons really got a steal in monroe. Remember when some guy named ekpe udoh was picked ahead of him. The warriors got banged right there lol.

thparadoxParticipantTyson Chandler deserved it over Monroe, who deserved it over Hibbert.
But the win records at the time didn’t allow for that. Hibbert is a good player. But the fact is that he got onto the team as the obligatory Pacers player

A Lil EnglishParticipantAamir summed up my thoughts exactly. Monroe will get his chance.

Jlv2012So shouldn’t be too hard to make the ASG from that side.

PulseGlazerParticipantParadox has it. With that personell, the Knicks should be atrocious on D. Look at their defense with and without Chandler, and this year compared to last. The dude’s an All Star.
I live in NY and love how Knick fans all claim to love D, then shit on Chandler for getting scored on when he’s busy covering for all Melo and Amare’s mistakes.
