SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantConvenient Coach K will be out of the media spot light recovering from back surgery. People will call coach K gutless but I don’t have a problem with it..

D7H7NParticipantHe was suspended for one game, a game where Duke lost. Boy he sure did learn his lesson coach K.

Sewok15ParticipantI don’t know why you would say it is indefinite to have it turn out to only be a game. I would have been okay with a one game suspension if they would have just come out and say that and not act like they really care.

OhCanada-ParticipantHes smart. He kniws how the media works which is a very strong suit. I gotta admit I may not be happy with his decisions but Im very impressed.
He says indefenitely to immediately temper the medias initial rage after Allen trips out. The media agrees with him and moves on to the next topic. He sits him for one game brings him back and is up by 31 against Georgia Tech at halftime.
Had he simply suspended him for.one game the media would be all over this. This way it kind of sits a little better and adds less tension/pressure for his kids. Great management.

r377ParticipantHarry Giles got 17 mins, how did he look ?

BleedGreen808ParticipantStill figuring things out on both ends of the floor. One thing that stands out is his nose for the ball on rebounds. In those 17 minutes he had 12 rebounds(7 offensive). There was one defensive rebound in traffic where he jumped up and snatched it out of the air with one hand.

D7H7NParticipantIf he doesn’t end up being the next Chris Webber, he reminded me a lot of Tristan Thompson. He’ll be an elite rebounder at the next level at the very least.

akhan786ParticipantGiles inhales any boards around him. How can you not root for this guy? Has mantained such a great attitude at such a young age. So happy that some slivers of light are showing for him.
First start and had 10 and 12. Finally looked a little more comfortable out there, but still needs maybe 15-20 more games before he starts looking close to his high school athleticism.
Don’t think he will be 100% healthy physically and mentally maybe until the pre-draft workouts, but needless to say things looked hopeful tonight.

TarHeelRavenParticipantLet’s not kid ourselves here. Coach K wants to win basketball games. He’s a West Point grad and one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all. To suspend Allen "indefinitely" and bring him back after one game is quite embarrassing and a bad look for the Duke program. K also could give a crap about what anybody else thinks of him. Even though Grayson is back on the court, he is still a very troubled young man. He has a bulls eye on his back everytime he steps foot on the court. I would eventually expect some sort of retaliation against him. Away games are going to be hell for him. He will never be able to shake the dirty label and rightfully so. The kid is a dirty basketball player. K calls himself a leader of young men. When it all comes down to it, he’s here to win baksetball games. Point. Blank. Period

akhan786Participant^^^Tell me how you really feel about Coach K lol. Agenda much? Disproportionate amount of anger than calls for the situation.
I understand though. A lot of my Tar Heel fans are salty after watching how well Duke played last night.
