valentineGrantland is dead, and I can just see the smile on Bill Simmons face now.
They tried to reinvent the wheel, and basically since Simmons left the product has been borderline insulting.
Jalen and Jacoby pop the trunk. *Unsubscribe*
Zach Lowe – snooze….and articles on best logos and court design. Is he writing for 7 year olds?
More Shaqtin’ a fool and Rip256 draftnet threads for me please.

Jr. ROXASParticipantGrantland was my absolute favorite site. Shame that it had to be brought down. All their writers, from Shea Serreano (my fave) to Zach Lowe and of course Bill Simmons have a reall unique style of writing that keeps me reading their articles. They do not resemble those boring, cliched and obvious articles from sites like bleacherreport. An article summed up the unique and unorthodox writing style of Grantland very well, saying they write not about the "what" but about the "so what" and the "what nows" of oft-discussed topic. Their sense of humor also was what kept me reading their articles. They were great while they lasted.

Rip256Why would something so great…with unlimited resources, go bust.
Treating fans like idiots is why.
Bleacher Report is getting way more traffic for a reason.

PulseGlazerParticipantZach Lowe is one of my favorite basketball writers ever. He’s informative, entertaining, and willing to admit when he’s wrong.

phila9012ParticipantThey had a good group of writers too. I thought zach lowe could have carried it. Bill Barnwell and robert mays were good for football, and lowe, chau, andrew sharp, mark titus, danny chau and kirk goldsberry were as good a group of writers for basketball as any site had. I hope simmons gets those guys together. I feel like if he got at least zach lowe on board and a solid investor they could do something great together, kind of like how dan patrick left espn and is doing great at his own thing.

King CaluchaParticipantJalen and Jacoby are still entertaining. I just don’t see them as great basketball minds. Just like Stephan A. and Skip, they just make some bold statements… most of the time they’re wrong but it’s to hear from basketball besides this forum.
