RUDEBOY_Participant1 of my favorite players in college basketball to watch last season..Dieng has improved each time he steps on the floor…And will be considered 1 of the nation’s best centers this season…
But i wouldnt take him in the lottery, maybe in the 20 to 35 range….He’s basically just an athletic shot blocker..And history has shown that guys whose primary skill is only blocking shots, dont fare that well in the nba..Because in the nba they have illegal defense and the lanes are wider…He reminds me of former Baylor center Ekpe Udoh who fooled the Warriors into taking him ahead of Greg Monroe….

F_Simho, there is absolutely no chance he falls to the second round.
he’s not just an athletic shot blocker. he has very good defensive instincts with 1.2 steals per game in addition to his 3 blocks. good timing, knows where to be, hustles, hard worker, defends the p&r. so he’s not just a athletic shot-blocker even thought he is not polished offensively. he’s also good rebounder, and will finish on dump-offs with non-dunks better than fab melo per say?.. who went 22nd last year in a stronger draft
i don’t think he will reach the lotto, but he is a player that can definitely bring ‘lotto-pick-type’ production to the nba and be a steal when its all done. how much are teams pver-paying for decent defensive bigs noawdays?

kobyzParticipantin such a draft he may be able to snick into the lottery, he is very good defensive center who play with great intensity, remind me Omer Asik.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYeah,he’s also a good defender and an impressive shot blocker….But what he does in college wont translate well at the next level…

F_Swould you care to explain why not?
how does doug mcdermott, jeff withey, and nate walters’ (who are all in your 1st round) game translate better to the nba than dieng’s?

TRC1991ParticipantIf he develops a little bit more offensively he can be quite good

RUDEBOY_ParticipantHe’s going to be a good rotation player..Playing at a high profile school like Louisville has him a little overhyped….

EDEDnowisgoneHe will he 23 years old on draft day, possibly older since he is African. Has no offensive game I would compare him to Adonal Foyle.
