r377ParticipantI feel quite sorry for Dieng. I think he is quite a handy big guy to have on your team. First he gets stuck behind Pek, now KAT. He doesn’t really get enough minutes.
Where do you think the best place for him would be ?
Indiana, Dallas

ChewyParticipantBjelica came in and right away stole a lot of minutes that we assumed to go to Dieng. Plus, KG came back and is taking some vet minutes as well. I think Dieng would be a very effective bench big on another team. The Kings could also use another defensive minded big to play next to Cousins. I know they drafted WCS, but Dieng would easily be an upgrade over Quincy Acy and Omar Casspi.
Also, Payne hasn’t proven anything in the NBA yet, but I still think he will be a solid bench big as well and he is getting a whopping 7 minutes a game in 3 apperances this season.

Tap892ParticipantI could see him fitting in well with Anthony Davis. He’s known more for his defense, but he’s got a solid offensive game, he just hasn’t gotten a ton of opportunities to show it.

herceg_bukuParticipantTo me he is a very solid player and does deserve a shot somewhere, right now Wolves are not teh spot for him.SImply because he got replaced by higher talent and guys that bring more to the table, KAT is the future along with Wiggins… Bjelica came in and he is a Point Forward he can play three positions, rebounds as well as Dieng but shoots as well from deep as anyone on the team, can pass as well… So it is easy to see where his minutes went and oh yeah KG gets more time just because of the respect he earned in minnesota along with his leadership.

T RexMan, every no impact Wolves player has a fanbase that overestimates their ability.

King CaluchaParticipantIn Bjelica’s defense… he’s really good, so I don’t blame the coach.
I’ve been really impressed by Dieng’s face up game. I think he could be a starter somewhere down the road.

SamCarlsonParticipantIn the Afrobasket (I know its not the best competition) he really was showing a nice face up game and looks like he is ready to take the step into being a starter. I am surprised that the Wolves have not used more of him and Towns together because they can both strethch the floor alright.
The Pacers could be a fit bc Dieng would be an upgrade of Mahimi but that would make less minutes for Turner and they want him to develop I think. I really like Dallas as a destination as they will likely not be a playoff team but he would help them to move into post Dirk era.
I could really see him flourish in New Orleans tho as he is an upgrade over both of their stiffs in Asik and Ajinca

T RexAs a playoff team, or at least looking like it, why would the Wolves trade away a quality reserve big? We all know injuries happen, and then they would need him as much as any team.
David Lee barely played for the Warriors, but then he was a key part of the NBA Finals.
These are all new problems for Wolves fans I know, but time to start thinking like a winner.

TWILL123ParticipantI would love to see Gorgui get traded out of Minnesota. It is quite obvious at this point that they are not going to give him a chance to play big minutes unless injuries happen. I think he would be a great fit in Portland alongside Plumlee and Leonard. They are 3 big men who are similar in some ways, but all bring very different qualities at the same time with Plumlee’s athleticsm, Leonard’s Shooting, and Gorgui’s defense and post play.

XYRYXParticipanti like him a lot and think many teams are going to give him a look if he is available at some point but actually I don’t see why the wolves should trade him now. Bis minutes and value isn’t very high right now and as already stated he will get some burn at some point for injury reasons alone.
I might not be more realistic but the Wolves should try to move Pek before they should consider trading Dieng to and team.
