417basketballfanParticipantHe has been amazing the past 6 games, during this span he has averaged a double double ever since pekovic has been out. Against houston he had 22 and 21 rebounds! So my question is should the t-wolves keep pekovic or should they test the waters and look to trade him this summer since dieng is playing so well?

livinlegend4blkParticipantRick Alderman has talent on the bench like shabazz and dieng but Don’t give Guys Chances Like He Did In Houston With Terence Williams And parsons but he Is A good coach but playing young guys Is his Weakness As A Coach

qDizzle32ParticipantAdleman was like that too when Gerald Wallace played for the Sacramento Kings. Didn’t play very much his rookie year or his second and third seasons in Sac as well.

Rip255I haven’t seen him play but his stats are impressive. Talk about a pleasant surprise for Twolves fans.
If he can maintain that kind of production, they could avoid having to rebuild via the draft. Trade Pek & Love for established, starting quality players and maybe even a fringe all-star or 2. (eg David Lee, Swaggy P and 1st round draft pick for Love, Eric Gordon for Pekovic?)
Twolves would be thrilled to trade their way to 50 win seasons and low playoff seeds and I think by having 2 starting calibre centres and an in-demand K-love as trade bait, they’re well on their way.

GrandmamaParticipantThey should probably see what they could get in return. If they are going to lose Love, they should probably try to get some assets in return for Pek. Although it may be tough to move him because of the 5yr 60mil contract he just signed last year.
Dieng is looking really good recently

Rip255Could you get a playoff seed with this team?
PG – Ricky Rubio + Tyler Ennis
SG – Eric Gordon + Swaggy P + Schved
SF – Corey Brewer and Kevin Martin
PF – David Lee + Mbah a Moute + Turiaf
C – Gorgui Dieng + backup (TBD)

r377ParticipantI thought he would be a solid backup in the NBA. He has played very well, but lets wait till he gets a few more runs on the board before we can call him a quality starter in this league and trade away Pek

Mr. HookShotParticipantC’s these days are most importantly as rim protectors anyway, and I don’t see why Dieng wouldn’t be a adequate rim protector. He is tall, mobile enough and no liability on offense (although his free throw shooting is a bit off (56%), he should be fine considering he shot 65-67% in college).
Trading Pek however will not be easy, considering he brings a hefty contract and is not a really good defender. Yes, he can score on offense as a bruiser, but when he doesn’t defend, those points are basically meaningless.

omphalosParticipantI think Pek is just a terrible fit alongside Love, they work fine offensively, but are a horrible defensive frontcourt. Pek would look great next to a guy like Serge Ibaka or Anthony Davis – heck, I’d even take John Henson.
There’s a thought; what about trading Pek for Larry Sanders? Sanders has gone off the rails in Milwaukee and they don’t need his shot-blocking as much as they need interior scoring, especially with Giannis and Henson at the forward spots.

Mr. HookShotParticipantI still have a problem with pairing a shot-blocking PF with a non-defensive C, because most of the time the PF is not able to stay in the paint anyway (he has to follow his man). Yes, he will provide weak-side blocking but in principle, my opinion is that your C should be the backbone of your defense.

King CaluchaParticipantThis is why positions are not really important. You just switch to the best matchup on defense.

OhCanada-ParticipantThat trade makes too much sense to happen.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantI’ve gotta be honest; I haven’t seen Dieng play once this year. All I wanna know is the list of players who averaged 13 and 14 over their 1st 6 starts in the NBA…
I know it’s a small sample size but I’d be shocked if anyone ever did that and didn’t go on to become a bona fide star.
