Just got back from the game not too long ago. The play was sloppy at times, but overall it was a good show.

Goodman League won the game 170-167 and John Wall got MVP with 41 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Eric Gordon led the Indy Squad with 40 points. Jeff Green had 35 and 13. DeMarcus Cousins 33 and 15.

Kevin Durant was filming  his movie, so he wasn’t here. Neither was Michael Beasley, Caron Butler or Josh Shelby. George Hill didn’t play for the Indy sqaud. Paul George, Lance Stephenson, Shelvin Mack and a couple of other players played for Goodman to even up the rosters.

Zach Randolph, Eric Gordon, Gordon Hayward, Mike Conley Jr., Jeff Teague, DJ White, JuJuan Johnson and Josh McRoberts played on the Indy squad.

Here’s what I’ll mention from the game:

    – John Wall is going to have a monster season. He’s so fast, it’s literally unreal. He’s gotten a lot bigger and yes… His jumper looks improved. He plays like D. Wade in my opinion. He’s about the same height as D. Wade and his arms are just as long. He’s freakish.

    – Eric Gordon has unlimited range and should be a 20+ scorer again next season. It’s clear he’s been working on his post and in between game. Nobody could defend him.

    – Zach Randolph and DeMarcus Cousins went at it. Randolph looked so out of shape though. You can tell he probably hasn’t played much ball since the season ended. He looked "full" literally and figuratively (after getting that contract extention). Cousins looked like a man amongst boys out there. He’s HUGE.

    – Jeff Green had some monster dunks on the night, but I still just don’t know what position he is.

    – Paul George and Gordon Hayward had some interesting battles and seemed to take their matchup personally. George’s ball handling still a work in progress. Hayward will start for Jazz this season.

    – Jeff Teague reminds me of Devin Harris in Dallas. All of that talent and athleticism, but still learning what to do with it.

    Randolph – 21points and 10 rebounds

George – 24 points, 11 rebounds and some nice dunks.

    Hayward – 21 points and 10 rebounds.

JuJuan Johnson – 21 points… Had a real nice dunk. His bounce is right.

Stephenson – 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists (and a technical… this dude played the most sloppy out of anyone)

    McRoberts – 11 points and 8 rebounds

    Teague – 11 points

ohh man do I want this NBA season to happen this year. My one boy is the biggest John Wall hater. Saying he’s just average at best -_____- (while saying Derrick Rose is the greatest player in the NBA right now)… I keep telling him John Wall will be in that convo as a top PG but he doesn’t listen to me. I need Wall to keep up this Summer League tear into the season, whenever it begins haha

Damn what a score line, there must not have been any defense.

Nice to know Wall’s jumper had improved, btw did he score alot of points in transition or did he use the jumper quite a lot?

There wasn’t much defense being played, especially once you entered the paint lol.

Wall scored about half of his points in transition and the other half in the half court. His mid-range jump shot looks very good. You can tell he’s been working on pulling up going to the right. His three-point range still isn’t quite there yet, but his mid-range jumpshot will be much more consistent this season.

I was impressed with DeMarcus Cousins though. It was funny watching him play against Randolph because they do have similar games. It’s sad that with all the size Cousins has, he can’t play a lick of defense.

Yeah someone tweeted that that the way Z-BBo was breathing, it looked like he didn’t he hasn’t played in months. Let’s hope for Memphis fans that this is just for the offseason and he gets back in shape when (if) the season starts.

I kinda thought Indy would dominate this matchup w/ KD out and homecourt.

Any news on Indiana college kids who played, or was it all NBA/pros?

That steal on Wall was nasty. You can’t help but wonder if Wall is getting overconfident with the slack D and could be in for a bit of a shock when he gets back to the NBA.

Lmao… Almost everybody is playing "slack" D in these summer league games. There are intense moments when the D really picks up, but overall… The D isn’t NBA caliber. I mean, duh.

But if you look in that video, you can see Wall has been working on that pull up. He looks A LOT more comfortable shooting that shot going to either hand off of the dribble.

Haha I know, but the point wasn’t about the slack D, it’s about Wall believing his own hype. I was just saying he might be playing so many of these pick-up games that he gets into bad habits offensively; I’m talking not protecting the ball when driving the lane rather than his jump-shot, which I agree has looked much improved.

I saw that video of TeaguevsWall before anything, so i was like "wow, Teague competed w/ Wall? Hes improving big time"

Thennn….I see that Wall had a 41pt trple double, and Teague only had 11 points -__-

Yea lol… That little back and forth was really all Teague did the whole game. Other than Gordon, Randolph and Hayward, nobody really did much for the Indy Sqaud. McRoberts was OK… Still the same player since Duke. Conley did nothing. DJ White did nothing, but shoot jumpers. JuJuan Johnson just got a bunch of garbage buckets.

Wow… Conley had 25? Other than a half-court three he made, that was one of the most irrellivant 25 point games ever lol.
