cheetosjalapeno17ParticipantSaw multiple twitter outlets have reported that the hand injury of Blake Griffin was allegedly due to him assaulting an equipment staff member. This is huge news and its telling that something ain’t right with the chemistry of this team and of the organization. So what’s the fallout of all of this? How many games is he suspended? Dobthe clips trade him? Where does he go?

SlickBouncePassParticipantBlake for the "star" and "team USA" Kevin Love.
What I find funny in all the trade rumors like the Utah one Utah would get a "star" in Kevin Love. He has a nice 3 pt shot that has been inconsistent in Cleveland. His defense exposes him, he just needs to sit by the rim maybe in a small ball lineup (and that team would be horrible defensively), and this is where he racks up his double digit boards like he used to on Minnesota. Tristan Thompson outplays Love especially rebounding, every game. Hate to say it again, but Thompson is a dog, like a football player out there. Lebron needs to play with those types of players. Not that Blake is a dog by any means, but he quietly plays aggressive. I would love to see him on the Cavs.
Kevin Love suffers defensively but gives the Clippers more outside shooting and allows them to run amore functional offense with CP3 and better ball movement, instead of handing blake the ball at the FT line and watching it stop.
Blake is a MUCH better player and I think he’s actually a little underrated with his passing and shooting. I don’t think his IQ is there, supposedly Kevin Love is a high IQ guy, maybe it helps both teams. They do different things, maybe both teams need the change.
I honestly have no idea but curious to see what others have to say.

ZachAttackParticipantKnew this was coming. Clippers shouldn’t get rid of him, after what he’s done for LA, making them relevant and all (of course with CP3’s help). They should just suspend him a couple games once his hand gets better and get on with the team.
Reports are that these 2 are friends so… it seems like there are probly no hard feelings. So, yeah, something stupid by Blake suspend him a game or two and get on with life.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI live in LA and work in the night life on the west side and see Blake, Deandre, and a bunch of Clippers staff out at bars all the time, these guys are friends and were probably lit up. It’s a big deal he broke his hand, but in reality it was two friends running their mouths to eachother and pushed one another to the next level which we’ve all done before. The media is going to do more harm then the actual punches.

dremill24ParticipantUhh..we have not ALL done this before. I dunno what you do with your "friends" but this isn’t ok. I mean if any of us assaulted our coworker wed be fired. But some negative media attention is too harsh in this case?

IlladelphParticipantAh, no I don’t think that this is normal "friend behavior". I have bever broken my hand on my "friend"’s face. Guys going out and boozing it up, and acting like idiots is not "normal" behavior.
That said, we do not and probably never will know the facts from this altercation. This does speak to Blake Griffin’s maturity level, and professionalism or lack thereof. He is still an elite basketball player though and is very valuable to the Clippers organization. I think you suspend him for a game or two to make the point that fighting is bad. Lol. Then, get him back in the lineup as soon as possible. If I am managing the Clips, I don’t really care what Blake does in his free time as long as he continues to produce on the court.
From my perspective as an NBA fan, this does not exactly endear me to him.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantOnce again, the Clippers show why they’re a complete “train wreck” ! In fact, more like a plane crashing into a train wreck that hit a bus of little kids holding puppies! On Blake…good scorer, average rebounder for his size, has improved his passing skills. But isn’t much of a defender and not much of a leader either. His lack of leadership shows up at the end of games, during the game. Just last year, the lack of leadership by Doc, CP3, and Blake showed up during their series vs. the Rockets. Bottom line….the Clippers are fun to watch and that’s about it. There not better than the Dubs, Spurs, or OKC. And you can add the Rockets now too? They have no bench, no young guys to bring up, no draft picks. Following the Clippers is like watching that TV show…Braxton’s sisters……tons of drama and yelling and nothing else!

Sewok15ParticipantBlake Griffin (along with CP3) has been a huge part of the Clippers turnaround. He has to punch like at least 3 more people until they would even consider trading him unless they could get some sort of ridiculous value for him.

SubZeroParticipantHe’s got Paul Pierce, Chris Paul, JJ Redick, and Jamal Crawford, and also a championship coach. That’s not a valid excuse in this case like it might’ve been for Jahlil Okafor, this is all on Blake.

natevalParticipant^^^^^^ Thanks guys it’s a joke clearly I know there are vets on the Clippers. Just think it’s funny with the Okafor fight people were starting to question Okafor as a person, Blake has Kia commercials and has been in the league awhile so we chalk up Blake’s incident has two buddies messing around.
Blake punched a stafff member and has had some other trouble in the past off the court. I hope people hold him to the same standards they hold 19 year old Okafor

Memphis MadnessParticipantThis might keep him off TEAM RIO. Chris Paul takes Blake’s place as the 11th man/obligatory Clipper.
I then DeAndre Jordan replacing Andre Drummond as the obligatory legit center on TEAM RIO. Jordan is marginally better than Drummond at blocking shots and hitting free throws. Both are great rebounders. CP3 and Jordan are a great combo that TEAM RIO can use effectively.
Not sure who becomes the alternate now. Chris Bosh?

Hype MachineTheres something fishy about this story.
Griffin is a beast. If he broke his hand punching a normal sized man…theyd be in a lot of trouble. And Equipment Managers arent usually Mike Tyson types either.
Most huge guys dont feel right about punching little guys since its a completely unfair fight.
Im going to wait for more details to emerge.

nill650Participantsad news for lac
out 4-6 weeks
he’s not 20 anymore, pretty dumb for a 5 yr vet
I hope for his sake whatever the reasoning was still seems worth it, although i doubt it could given what he has done to his teams chances of getting a 3 or 4 seed. selfish act no doubt and unlikely to be easily forgotten by the team unless they keep winning without him.but none of the wins without him besides houston as i recall really have been against anybody thats solid. i see them slipping fast.
bet they wish they had’nt just traded josh smith…not that he did much

r377ParticipantThe Clippers are now 12-2 without Blake Griffin.
They won’t trade him just because he got in a fight with someone from their team / organization. If that was the case Bill Laimbeer would of ended up playing for half the teams in the league !!

CynthiaParticipantOP: "This is huge news and its telling that something ain’t right with the chemistry of this team and of the organization"
I’ll never understand why people always think just one player acting a fool equates to a whole team, or even organization for that matter, to have chemistry issues. Talk about overreacting.
It’s sad/bad news, but has nothing to do with chemistry.

Hype MachineThose equipment managers are known antagonists tho. Always playing pranks.
Eg…Switching Spalding Basketballs with Gas Station Basketballs…. or spraying the jerseys with ladies perfume before big games. Rumor has it Griffin decked him with a haymaker after the team Equipment Manager gave him a pair of shoes in the wrong colour scheme.
About time someone made an example of them!
