good discussion. Looking like the jazz list is Monroe, Henry and Davis. I’d be good with them. Davis had a great workout yesterday and george I guess did not.

Interesting they wanted Hassan white side in for another look, says to me he didn’t totally stink it up the first time, but sounds like they are as confused about his bust or star potential as we are….

I saw this article, but I think you’re reading into it from the Jazz perspective way too much. The organization always keeps info like this very close to the vest. They don’t give hints, because if they did then the potential trade value of the pick would decrease pretty dramatically. The Jazz didn’t actually say that those 3 were their top three, so they probably aren’t.

I personally don’t buy that Davis is an option at this point for Utah. I like him, but not at 9 under any circumstance. Udoh, Patterson, Babbit, and Monroe are all a better fit, in my opinion, and one of those guys is guaranteed to be available.

My guess is Monroe and Henry will both be gone at 9.

Including local Salt Lake papers, various mock drafts, and “experts” opinions, and then taking into effect what I anticipate the teams picking before the Jazz will most likely do, leads me to this conclusion…the Jazz will end up with Ed Davis. He had a great workout the other day, and he’s been high on the Jazz list from the start. Monroe will be gone before the Jazz select. Udoh and Patterson from all accounts, don’t seem quite as high on the Jazz radar (though they like both guys). Henry is known to have had a little bit better workout then Babbitt, and I’ve heard the Jazz have major concerns about Luke’s ability to defend. If Davis is there at 9, I think that’s who they will take. He wouldn’t be my first choice, but I am just going off all the info I can gather. If he’s gone, then Henry. Again, not who I would take. But, they like who they like. If Monroe, Davis, and Henry are gone…maybe Aldrich. But I see him as a fall back plan at this point.

Wes, it’s just more info, also that was silas’s opinion based on his sources. The jazz have said nothing, and the whiteside attempt is probably a ruse to get someone with a lower pick in need of a big will take him. I think the board that sills is showing is right. Monroe, Henry,Davis, aminu, babbit, udoh and aldrich.

Where in that blog post does it say anything about bringing Whiteside in for a second look? I watched the interview with Perrin and when asked about bringing in a certain player with a 7’7″ wingspan for a second look he said it wasn’t him they wanted to come back. The Jazz aren’t interested in Whiteside.

I will be surprised if Henry is a top 8 pick.

Thanks for linking that. I know Whiteside didn’t have a good first workout, but I think it might have been due in part to the altitude.
