JNixonParticipantThis is my 1st time watching Gonzaga play, so I haven’t seen the Elias Harris guy play yet. This should be an interesting game, as Gonzaga usually has trouble with Memphis’ athleticism when they play.
Prospects to Watch:
Elias Harris: Supposedly and elite athlete with developing skills and the highest “motor” in college basketball.
Matt Bouldin: A do-it-all type player who is a great shooter and has a high basketball IQ. He may lack the athleticism and quickness to get shots off in the NBA though.
Elliot Williams: He’s had a breakout season this year, and he’s the best 2010 prospect for Memphis. He’s a great athlete and he’s going to be a lockdown defender in the NBA with his physical tools. He’s not very talented offensively, but he can score off the dribble in staright lines due to his quickness and athleticism.
Wesley Witherspoon: Williams might be the best player and prospect on their team this year, but Witherspoon has the higher upside and may very well be the better pro. He has the versatility to play anywhere from PG-PF. He’s an impressive ball-handler, passer, and he is a great defender with loads of upside. He reminds me of Tayshaun Prince, and I think he can develop into one of the top defenders in the NBA like Prince has. I’ve seen him play plenty of times, ever since he was a Sophomore in HS, and the shot he’s developed this year is making him a matchup problem (shooting 45% on 3’s). He should be a top 20 pick in 2011.

Prospect21ParticipantCould Elliot Williams be in the 2010 Draft?
I’m thinking he can if Memphis can be a top 3 team in C-USA, do well in a tournament (NIT or NCAA) and he can show he can do some damage at PG ( I seen him play some PG vs Syracuse)
What do you think>?

JNixonParticipantI think he’ll test the waters unless he completely tanks down the stretch. I don’t think he’s ever going to be a PG, but if he shows he can run the point at least effective enough to play spot minutes there in the NBA, it would certainly help his stock. I don’t think he’ll ever be asked to play PG though. He strikes me as a Dahntay Jones type player in all honesty.
