lalailaParticipantHow in the world Don not let A-Ran play..he is heart of the game, he came with 3min left in 2nd q and was so so energetic, rebounds better than both Turiaf, Biedrins blocks shots runs floor like a guard, dribbles and offcourse his 3pt from near halfcourt at the buzzer…same was in the second half…and just 10MINUTES???!

doubledribblerParticipantI think Anthony Randolph could end up being a really nice player, but I think sometimes people fall in love with these do it all types like him. Some guys can do a little bit of everything, but never really put it all together. Lamar Odom is still that way. Antoine Walker at his best was that way. One thing to point out was that Randolph had the second worst +/- on his team in the game. Ellis had the worst. I have a feeling that he will be getting more playing time though. I think the Rockets are a bad matchup for him, which is probably why Turiaf got the start.

The Big OLamar Odom put it together, DEFEND the 3 and the 4, hustle and grab the OFFENSIVE PUTBACKS
instead of taking 40% 3 pointerstake high percentage shots and move in closer to the basket and above all PLAY DEFENSE
sincerely,

lalailaParticipantit’s not because of regular season IMO, i think he would play 30mpg in almost half of other league’s teams

quincey hodgesoh i know its not because of the regular seaosn..i was just saying welcome to the regular season because didnt get the same opportunites and time that he got during the preseason and summer leauge..although i dont think hes gonn abe a star this year i do wonder why he hadnt played…im wondering how he does in practice before before brendon got hurt nelson said he was out playing randolph and although randolph had more potenial brendon was gonna start because he was out playing him

lalailaParticipantI don’t think he is allstar, no way. i’m just thinking he is potential allstarand even more, and to reach this potential he needs to play..

quincey hodgesthat is true..i do think he could help them by playing more because i dont think he would hurt them..i wonder what the reason was that he played so lil

doubledribblerParticipantLamar Odom has never put it together from the perspective of what he could have or should have been. With his abilities, he SHOULD without a doubt be a top 20 player in the NBA, maybe even top 15. How many guys in the NBA at his size or close to his size have his handling and passing skills, speed and shot? The guy has always had the ability to drop 20, give you at least 10 boards, and hand out 5 assists and he has done that before, just not consistently. Consistency is part of what makes a guy a star. Sure you can say that he plays with Kobe, but he has played other places and has never risen above role player status. Lamar Odom has become a really really nice role player, not a star like he should have been. He is extremely inconsistent. Some games he shows up huge and others he doesn’t register a blip on the radar. When he plays aggressively he is a monster, but too often he is passive.

The Big Oeveryone wants lamar to shoot a lot of threes
but in reality if u shoot 40% u MISS 6 out of 10 times and ppl consider that goodif u board up then u get to the foul line, plus if he’s shooting the 3 ball who’s rebounding Farmar/Kobe? Fisher?
Phil Jackson got Lamar a ring and I think that’s realizing potential
Sure Joe Johnson is a star but that’s bcuz he takes low percentage shots and fadeaways like Kobe
so guys say wow that’s incredible! so he makes the all star team
then lamar goes and grabs a rebound and puts it back sending Rashard Lewis to the bench bcuz of foul trouble
The championship ring says enough IMO as far as potential goes.I’ll give u guys this quote by basketball genius Oscar Robertson (see my pic lol)
“Now, I guess, people want stars. People are trying to invent stars”u can take any role player give them 20 jump shots and call them a star. but can u put them in a team setting and succeed in the NBA. that’s the real question.

DeAndreParticipantAnthony Randolph was injured he wasnt even set to play the game,
hell probably get more playing time the next game0 - Posted on: Thu, 10/29/2009 - 1:32pm #224849

JNixonParticipantWait til 2010-2011 for Randolph to truly break out, I promise you he’ll be a beast then. Until then, expect a very good 3rd option (if Nelson lets him truly develop during games).

quincey hodgeslol..what people are u talking about that want odom to shoot threes?..cuz i dont know anyone who says that..and of course shooting 40percent is good..shooting percentage isnt graded like school work..just like in base ball hitting at 40percent would be great..joe johnson isnt a star because he shoots low percentage and fadeaway ..hes a star because hes good…no one says wow thats incredible and puts him on the all star team because of that…and just because youre big man shoots three doesnt mean you cant board..it worked for the spurs when horry played the four and shot threes..it works for dirk who shoots a bunch of jumpers while playing the four..you come up wit things saying people think or say this but no one thinks or says those things

MrWoLeeParticipantrandolph has a bad back and ankle right now, he wasn’t supposed to play yesterday but he begged nelson to put him in. i was lucky enough to score seats a couple rows back and you could hear randolph saying: c’mon coach give me a couple minutes!”
