    Who do you think the Warriors take at #7? I’ve seen a lot of names pop up like Dion Waiters, Terrence Ross, Damian Lilliard, JLamb ect.

    Assuming Davis, Robinson, Beal, Gilchrist, Barnes and Drummond are off the board, who do you think they take? I see it either being Waiters or Ross. Although it seems the Warriors sometimes make a head scratching pick like Udoh. I wouldn’t be surprised if they took Meyers Leonard which would be a terrible pick.

    i really hope the warriors trade for the 7th pick for a proven vet like deng, iggy or granger. i like they would love the fact if MKG or barnes falls to them at seven though. I can see them drafting a player like rivers so use as trade bait.

    They should trade the pick like what some sources have specualted. They need a three and the supposed Luol Deng trade would be a great deal. If the trade doesn’t go through, I think they will go with BPA. Jerry West has been drilling that into the front office heads for quite some time now. I think they would go with Ross seing as he has the length and athleticism to maybe play some 3 and I think he fits well with the Warriors. I could see them going with Waiters too but that would almost be reminiscent of Monta Ellis and Stepehn Curry and with Ellis being dealt, I think they want to try something else

    The big 5 are likely gone by 5, but a bird in the hand…

    If one of them somehow slips to 7, they’ll take him.  If they don’t, but Drummond falls, he’d be the choice.

    If Drummond is also gone and the choice is between Lillard, Leonard and the various 2s, I think they should take Lillard, Lamb or Waiters.  If I were making the pick between these three, I’d take Lamb and move Thompson to the 3.  Thompson’s big enough and is a 2/3 mix already.  Lamb and his long arms would be a good fit with Curry in the back court.  I’m not a huge Lamb fan, but I think he’s going to be a solid pro.  Too much was made of his bad interview in my opion.  He probably won’t ever be the best player on a good team, but I think he’s a top-10 pick and a particularly good fit next to Curry.

    Being a GSW fan for life, we have to plan for the future.

    I think that if Lillard is available at 7, we swoop. He would be the best talent left on the board, at that position, and he would serve as great trade bait for a team looking for a PG of the future. He is an NBA ready back up PG who has potential to start in the future. He can handle minutes, scoring load off the bench, and the leadership role for the second unit.

    Despite the fact that I love Stephen Curry’s game, he could end up being a player whose full potential isn’t reached due to injuries.

    I think that the Warriors have to give Curry one more full year with a healthy line-up featuring some quality players to prove his worth. If we can not make a run to the playoffs, it may be time to explore some trade options and have a bay area native (Lillard) be his replacement.

    If Lillard is gone, we should take Andre Drummond and either groom him or trade him. A problem I have with GSW drafting freshman is we turn them into value and then we do not retain them. So that is an issue.

    The next best talent I do see, who would play a similar role to Lillard, is Dion Waiters. He can provide scrappy defense, a boost of energy, and some offensive creation off of the bench.

    Despite all that was just said, my preference is to package Dorell Wright and the #7 to acquire Andre Iguodala. He would be a great fit with the team and would bring much needed defense/athleticism. We could utilize him as a point forward and design some plays where he handled and Stephen became a go to shooter along with Klay.

    Thoughts?

      @mlevens

      I like the idea behind taking Lillard and grooming him, kinda like New Orleans did with Darren Collison when they already had Chris Paul.  However, if Lillard and Drummond are both gone, I’d probably turn my attention to PJIII after that.  He’s the only guy that they can get at #7 besides Drummond that has the potential to be the best player in this draft class.  In my opinion, in a draft that doesn’t seem to have any superstars besides maybe Davis or Drummond, the potential reward is worth the risk.

      Curry’s ankle or foot or whatever it is that he’s hurt like 10935109315 times already is a big worry in my opinion.  It’s too bad too because he looked like he could be one of the better yonug PGs in the league if he stayed healthy.

    Well Jerry West has a great track record when it comes to the draft. He seeks out talent many others haven’t even noticed. My favorite example is him trading Vlade Divac an awesome All-Star level center for a shooting guard out of high school in Kobe Bryant while the team already had Cedric Ceballos and Eddie Jones. I don’t know who the Warriors will take but I expect them to be a good/great addition to the team.

    Recently the word is that Jerry West was the reason Klay Thompson was the Warriors pick last seasosn.

    Apparently Jerry West really likes Tyler Zeller. Surprise, Surprise but it looks like Zeller may move up to a top 7 pick unless MKG or Barnes falls out of the top 5. Although with recent reports saying that Houston is looking to move into the top 5 targeting Drummond, and Sacramento likely to move out of there since they can’t seem to get any top 5 talent in work outs, GSW may get lucky and land Barnes or MKG unless Portland surprises us all and selects one of them. Doubt it, maybe Washington passes and Beal and takes MKG instead. So I wouldn’t adjust your mocks just yet and put Zeller as the 7th pick, I’d wait and see if the Houston and Sac deal comes to frution or not. It may be a draft day deal though. Whatever Sacramento does at 5 will determine what GSW does at 7 whether that be reaching for Zeller or picking MKG or Barnes if one of them slides out of the top 5.

    @mosdef

    "Jerry West Loves Tyler Zeller

    We hear that Tyler Zeller has entered the mix for the Warriors at the 7th pick because Warriors executive Jerry West loves him.

    Seven seems awfully high for a player that many projected as a mid-late first coming into the season.

    The team could always look to trade down a few spots to the 10-12 range and likely still be able to grab him."
