high floorParticipantIf I had to go out on a limb, I’d say that Karl Anthony-Towns is going to average 25ppg next year. Sound high? Below is a quick look at what some elite bigs of the 80’s & 90’s averaged in their 2nd season:
Hakeem Olajuwon: 23.5ppg (while sharing the court with an elite big in Ralph Sampson)
David Robinson: 25.6ppg (Lived at the FT line… 9.2 attempts per game)
Shaquille O’ Neal: 29.3ppg (Too big, too fast, too powerful to stop)
There are a couple of reasons why I think KAT can make a similar type of leap. For starters, he only averaged 14 FG attempts per game last year. That will definitetly increase to something around 17 FG attempts this year.. maybe more. He’s also extrememly efficient from the field (54% overall). The second is that he only averaged 3.4 free throw attempts per game! That should double this year, as he shot a very impressive 81% from the stripe.
Lastly, what is Thibs most known for in Chicago.. for better or worse?? Playing his horses big minutes. I think Towns plays 36mpg this year which by itself will lead to more offensive opportunities.
Who else today feels like going out on a limb for a stat-line?

The GoatParticipantHeres going out on a limb – Westbrook will average a triple double.
Taking it down a notch, I’ll say Jabari to average 20ppg.

trombonematrix43ParticipantI could see Jahlil Okafor averaging 22.5 PTS per game. With the way Simmons passes the ball and the fact Jahlil had 17.5 per game last year with basically no guard/passing play on the floor…I don’t think it’s much of a stretch.

Hype MachineTell me what u think his mpg will be, and I’ll split the difference with you. I just dont see how he hits the court unless Philly plans on playing a monster lineup.
DNPs directly due to disciplinary reasons or Coaches Decision.

Stop_basketball_nonsenseParticipantWith d.rose’s most healthy season since all his injuries under his belt now with a full off-season to focus on his game & conditioning, I predict the Knicks make the playoffs, & he makes a strong case for an all star slot.
Boston makes the conference finals, I know many pick the pavers, but I feel their team strongly resembles their summer league team, a lot of scorers, Boston in my opinion has so many guys contributing in different roles, thomas-the all star,Bradley-offense/defense,smart-bulldog defender swiss army knife,olynk- offensive mismatch,hoford-versatile elite big man, yes and much more.

HitsterParticipantMy fun one would be guessing GSW’s stat lines for next season with KD there, how many ppg will KD and Steph give up playing together, how will this affect Klay and Draymond too.
Westbrook stays at OKC and wins scoring title with 28ppg plus.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThe rockets are going to play fast and score a ton with dantoni and no Howard on the floor. Harden will have the ball in his hands a ton and everything they do will center around his ability to create shots. This could be his best statistical season yet. I don’t think something like 31 ppg, 5 rpg, 7 apg, 2 stl is out of the question.

HitsterParticipantLinsanity will have good fantasy league value as he may get the ball a lot and take a load of shots.
I’ll be interested to see what Laker scoring stats are like post Kobe.

Al PerezParticipant1. Joel Embiid – 67 games played, 22 min per game, 11 pts, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks
2. Derrick Rose – 78 games played, 22.5 ppg, 7 ast, All Star game selection, Knicks get 4 seed
3. Ben Simmons – 14 ppg, 8 ast, 6 reb…..I’ve seen 8 + ast average for him predicted on this site a number of times and I agree
4. Nerlens Noel – traded…..to the Kings…just kidding……..I think Noel gets traded first instead of Okafor
5. Most Improved player? Dennis Schroeder
6. D’ Angelo Russell – 19 ppg, 6 ast and the Lakers start showing a lot of promise for the future

Lakers are better without kobe, win 21 games ( Still lose their draft pick in the Lotto)
Jazz finish 3rd in the west.
Spurs finish with a better record than the Warriors
