    Hi everyone,

Being a European basketball fan, I’m surprised that Giorgi Shermadini does not figure on any mock draft, simply because he is one of, if not the tallest player of the draft (7-1 and 265) and has a very nice jumpshot with nice stats from the free throw line (84.6% this season) which allow him to play PF despite his size.

Here were his stats this season :

    http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=001386&seasoncode=E2010.

Do take into account that these were achieved in only 15mpg at a high level. He is extremely efficient with a sky-high field goal percentage over 70%.

Of course, he is soft and is a below average rebounder (but Bargnani is!), but he has decent athleticism and quickness for a guy his size and is able to block shots (1.1bpg in 15mpg is nice). He has a nice potential and could develop well in Europe for 2 to 3 years.

This said, he appears to be a legitimate second round pick and could be chosen by a team looking for another big man and size. Candidates: Lakers, Clippers (if they trade Kaman one day), Grizzlies, Rockets (could trade down to acquire him: idea: #38 for the Lakers’ #46 and #56 maybe), Cavs, Warriors, 76ers, Boston, Kings, Portland with Oden maybe on his way out, the Mavs because they can afford to develop a young player, etc……

What do you guys think? Should he be drafted and who would take him?

Reading his profile and seeing those stats I wouldn´t mind a draft & stash for the Spurs at the end of the second round. Though I rather have that they trade the picks for draft picks next year and NOT to trade Parker.
