HandDownManDown13ParticipantBout to start. Whos watching?
Last two matchups, mason plumlee has played with, or outplayed derrick favors imo, lets see if that happens again.
Should be a good game.

Adi JosephFavors has been coming on strong down the stretch. But you’re right, against Duke he’s put him 15 points, 15 rebounds in two games.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantAdi- What year do you see Mason Plumlee coming out?
He has alot of tools but I think he try to make the “wow” play too much.

QUINCEYyeah favros has been playing well. i think he has a problem with duke because he cant just turn and use his height, athletic ability and long arms to score because there defenders are smart. this is a team you will need to have post moves. then they are also smart on offense and there guards are very good at making contact on drives which gets him in foul trouble. i really wanna watch this game but its on at the same time of uk miss st

JNixonParticipantLook out for the Scheyer v. Shumpert matchup. When Shumpert is on his game, like he’s been in the tourny most times, I think he can outplay Scheyer the way he outplayed and frustrated Vazquez. Whoever gets the better of this matchup wins the game.

QUINCEYthats because gt sent 2 towards vasquez…there coach was talking about that the other day. they will probably do the same with duke which is a very good plan but not as good against duke because they have other real good shooters

JNixonParticipantThey ran a half-court trap, but I didn’t see any double teams on Vazquez that game at all when they got past the timeline. Maybe when he drove the lane he had other guards coming at him, but I didn’t see him getting double teamed ever on or off the ball in their half-court offense.

QUINCEYmaybe youre the only one because me my friend then after the game digger and hubert talked about it. shumpert would get him full court then another guard would come over after half court.. even there coach talked about it after the game on a atl radio show. said that was there game plan and it worked because no one else could hit the shot when he’d past. plus when hed get into the lane the help defense would come over(which was smart as hell). wasnt a hard double team more like a hedge over to stop him from getting where he wanted to go. very smart team defense.
but i cant accoutn for what you saw or missed. just saying what i saw and everyone else saw and what the coach said

QUINCEYthats cuz its called a hedge. you dribble towards the middle and have a step on youre man and the other guard hedge or gives a soft coming double which makes you pass the ball. duke does it very well..actually every team does it. pretty much youre never gonna see a teamplay a strictly one on one against good guards. a coach will tell you thats bad defense. ..i m watchign it over and over again at this uk game. when you see guards have bad games thats the reason why

QUINCEYas a defender when someone gets a step on you youre teammates hedges over. he doesnt double because if he does the guy he is checking can get the wide open look. alotof peopel who watch basketball games dont notice this untill someone says something or they really look for it. i didnt know it when i was young untill coach valvano told me on a recruting visit when he was recruiting my brother. said that and a bunch of other stuff how theres alot of other things that goes on that the average fan doesnt see. alot of people think teams are going up and down but dont really see that unless its a fast break most of the time the teams are runnign actually plays

HandDownManDown13ParticipantWhen i watch duke play, and thats basically every game, i always wonder whats going on with andre dawkins. You think he can develop a better dribble game, because he’s incredibly athletic, id like to see him develop his game for next year, otherwise he’ll get buried behind kyrie, curry, and nolan smith

Adi JosephMason Plumlee’s going to be at least a three-year guy.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/14/2010 - 7:44am #265890

JNixonParticipantThere is a difference between a double-team and help-side/team defense. They helped Vazquez slashed, yes.

QUINCEYliek i said i cant account for what you see. just saying what i saw and everyone else saw and what gt coach even said

HandDownManDown13Participantadi, as a big duke fan, im okay with those three years. Those are going to be three good years for duke
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/14/2010 - 8:48am #265916

the I in winParticipanti haven’t really thought about mason plumlee as a pro. probably not 2011 but 2012 he could be a nice prospect.

QUINCEYfavors is playing pretty well…still dont have any post moves but he is using what he does have( long amrs height and athletic ability) very well and finishing the easy plays
