gabriel_akvaParticipantKings just announced that Karl is out. Who’s gonna be the next Sacramento’s coach? Brooks? Thibs? Blatt?

220ParticipantThe Kings are a mess so no smart desired coach is likely to go to Sacramento. Vinny Del Negro might be the best they can get at this point.

Hype MachineWhoever takes that job will be taking it for the wrong reasons.
Either they’re desperate for money, or desperate to take the first head coaching job that comes their way. This is fine if you get a young, inexperienced coach. But I doubt that’s what they want.
Sacramento has a history of slaughtering coaches.
The players slaughter the coach. The Management slaughters the coach. It’s the worst coaching job in the NBA.
On the plus side, whoever takes the job will have hardly any pressure because it can’t get any worse right?

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantIt’s amazing how a guy flops as a player and still flops as an executive.

llperezKings have been bad but they have new ownership, management, and a new arena opening next year. Vlade has been running things for 1 year exactly and the ownership has proven they are willing to spend. Who knows vlade might suck and the team might remain a train wreck, but you guys are calling out these guys for things they were not even around for.

HitsterParticipantThe job was attractive enough to get George Karl last year. With several other jobs out there or almost certain to come up then the same guys will be probably mentioned for virtually everyone.
One name which came to mind is Lionel Hollins, he got the best out of Z-Bo at Memphis and is regarded as a good coach of big men so might be a good fit with DMC. Kevin McHale probably fits the same bill.
Patrick Ewing mentioned above would be a deserving choice.
A total long shot might be Rasheed Wallace, he was "Mr Technical Foul" but played with passion and at the top level so could he just be the guy to make DMC really click?

Mr. HookShotParticipantMost important the new coach has to be able to work with DMC, respecting him while keeping him in check at the same time. I agree with Hitster with his suggestion of McHale; he seems like someone who can handle DMC, and maximize his potential in the post.

HitsterParticipantThibs and DMC would be a ticking timebomb. No player is bigger than a franchise and DMC isn’t at a level where say an LBJ may influence the choice of maybe more indicate what sort of coach he’d like to work with.
Kevin McHale was a sub par GM and isn’t the greatest coach out there but he played with Bird and co at the Celtics would have been around Read Auerbach, he spent many years with KG and Flip, coached Harden, Howard and co. So he knows how players tick and what takes a player to the next level and played at the highest level and with outstanding success so he knows fairly much all angles of the game.
One interesting point could be if a load of people the Kings contact about the job all start saying "I’d only consider the job if DMC is moved on" or more realistically "If DMC starts playing his face, you have to back me" then I wonder if any trades for DMC might be considered more by the Kings.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThey cant build around a headcase-crybaby like Cousins…
For all his talent he’s just never going to be a great leader or team player, in fact he my need to get traded to humble himself ala Zach Randolph…
So much talent its frustrating to watch, but he just doesn’t get it and sadly I feel never will…
I’d trade him for Brooklyn’s picks, Olynyk and Smart right now if I was in charge…
Let Rondo walk, draft Buddy Hield and Jaylen Brown with your 2 Top 10 picks and hire Thibbs to coach a starting 5 of Smart-Hield-Brown-Olynyk and WCS…

HitsterParticipantThibs and DMC would be fun to watch from afar!
With DMC having such a bad rep would a team like Boston give up high picks to get him I wonder? Danny Ainge is a fairly smart guy and has a near 50 win team already, he can make plays for top FA’s or use assets to target other top players.
