jas225ParticipantGarnett has recently told a ball boy that asked for his autograph that the boy had a better chance at catching Bin Laden. Why Garnett would say this baffles me. Sign the freaking autograph, make the kid happy.
Andrew Bogut then goes on to say that Garnett has said worse to the Milwaukee ball boys.
Personally, i do not like Garnett’s character, but he can ball.
What do you guys think?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIf this was during the game, either during a time out, or in between quarters, or at half time.. I have no problem with what KG said because I hate to be bothered during a game. But if this is post game, it’s kind of messed up, but not entirely. If a city dislikes me, I’m not going to go to that city and sign autographs and act like I’m happy and dandy. I’m going there to play and I mean business. Is it rude? Yes. Is he supposed to sign the autograph? No. Could he simply have said no? Of course. But you gotta love this vintage KG.
What was the ball boy even thinking?

justincParticipanthes a pro baller, he can act however he wants. who cares.

Tha_PrinceParticipantI understood him saying no to a Lakers ball boy because of the epic rivalry those two teams have but the fact he does it to other teams too is just rude. The ball boys are obviously fans of the game too so why not sign an autograph or two.
I agree with Tongue-Out-Like-23 though there’s a time and place to ask for an autograph.

ghettosermonParticipantI find it funny how so many people hate Garnett now. Garnett has always been one of the most loud mouthed disrispectful players in the league. I’m pretty sure everyone who isn’t his teammate has always hated him. It’s just now that he’s in Boston on a championship team and with all the media attention people hate him. People forget KG was this volitile and rude when he was on the T’wolves. The difference was that people felt sorry for him for being with a messed up franchise who could never get him help except for one season. Don’t be mistaken though KG has always been a world class douche. Has nothing to do with his play or success but I’ve always thought he was an a-hole, a HOF ahole though.

KayjayParticipantI’m going to agree with ghettosermon. But at the same time I agree with Tounge out like 23. He doesn’t have to sign a single autograph if he doesn’t want to. You never know, that same boy could of been wishing Garnett got injured or hurt. (Laker fans do say these things, if you’ve ever been you’d know how they speak.) And then after the game changed his tone. So in all honesty, he’s just being KG. I don’t know about you, but if I felt like I got cheated, or felt pissed because I lost to that team when it meant the most, the last thing I would do is try to get in touch with the fans from there. I’d want to leave an impression that says. "I’ll be back, and I don’t give a fuck how you feel." Thats just me. Its a rivalry, get off KG’s nuts.

sheltwon3ParticipantI guess because it was not getting as much public except that time he punched Ricketts, it was not apparent how much of jerk KG is but now it is out in the open. I used to be somewhat of a KG fan and feel sorry for him now I don’t. I can see if he treats other player bad sometimes because other basketball players can sometimes be on some other stuff but to dis fans that are treating him with respect is messed up. He can’t blame people hating on him if they say things and dont like him because he created the situation. I hope Boston doesnt win another Championship until KG retires. I have an extra great feeling when Boston lost in Game seven because a lot of the Celtic are A holes and have a history of it. Ray Allen is one. All of a sudden Pierce is more vocal now that they are winning.

JJeff6ParticipantUhmmm ray allen is a nice guy sheltwon.. i lived next to him a few years ago. hes like one of the nicest pro athletes i ever met… so thats a false statement. And secondly, what kinda person would deny a kid an autograph? Seriously, it take a lot of courage to ask for one sometimes if you are a kid, and to throw it back in their faces is just rude and uncalled for and it pisses me off..

Maysek22ParticipantYa garnett is a douche bag. When i was 10, i was at a maple leafs NY Islanders hockey game, and mike bossy, who had recently been put on IR was outside of the NY box talkin to some broad, told me to "@#$% off kid." when i asked him to sign my Islanders jersey (this was in TO, any hockey fan would know the honour i was showing him) My dad, a metro toronto cop, and by any account a scary mother@#$%@$ went and had a few kind words with mr. bossy, who was consequently more than happy to sign my Islanders jersey. He’s never told me what he said, but perhaps mr. garnet needs someone who isnt afraid of him, and would smash his face off a car windshield, then take his mother, dorothy garnet out for a nice seafood dinner, and never call her again, to talk to him about how to treat children.

JJeff6ParticipantLol Tim Lincecum did that too… Me and my friend and his little bro who is 5 years old loves Lincecum for his long hair haha went to ask for an autograph. When my friends little brother asked Tim Lincecum (this was in spring training mind you…and all he was doing was sitting in a chair next to the dugout…) he said "No, get the hell away from me..". He said that to a 5 year old. Like how shi tty is that? who does that… Not to mention that he was asking him to sign a lincecum jersey..

sameolGParticipantI never seen a ball "boy" on the Lakers they’re really ball "men" lol, doesn’t change that its f’ed up but damn its blown way out of proportion.. The NBA is soft now and so are its fans gettin so butt-hurt by what KG says or does… he plays with an old school intensity and does dumb shit but are we forgetting these are all grown men here?

TyrekeJonesParticipantCompletely agree with him, he plays basketball for a living, makes a lot of money and is a great player but to turn down signing an autograph? It really doesn’t take much effort to write your name, especially for someone who may look up to you and it may make their day/week/month, I really do not care if you are a billionare, you need to treat people with respect and dignity and not like they are nobody, I am not really shocked though, Garnett is a great player and I do have respect for him (as a player) but he speaks out of line sometimes, he needs a filter.

sheltwon3ParticipantRay Allen has said some jacked up stuff out in the media. There are some things a person does that shows their charactor. Whether a person is good or bad is matter of opinions sometimes. I have never met Ray Allen but i have met a lot of people that seem good but are not. Allen puts on a front but every now and then he shows his true colors.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 4:44pm #481361

JJeff6ParticipantHis true colors are a nice guy. trust me.

IknoBall12Participantidk if everyone knows the real story but yall are making it seeem as tho the kid jus wanted an autograph and kg says what he said. I was reading sumwhere that the kid asked KG to sign a kobe jersey during the game and thats when he said what he did. personally i have no problem with it. i wouldnt really wanna sign anything during a game either and even more i wouldn wanna sign the jersey of another player on a rival team. thats jus competition

llperezmy question is what the hell is a lakers ball boy asking kg for an autograph for? Sounds to me like someone needs a new job.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 01/31/2011 - 6:16pm #481385

raybeasParticipantlike the one he gave to Channing Frye.

mgreener_34Participant"my question is what the hell is a lakers ball boy asking kg for an autograph for? Sounds to me like someone needs a new job."
Seriously made me laugh. I personally don’t care either way. There are thousands of people in that arena who want a autograph that didn’t get one, so really who cares?
ps. If you have front row seats at a Laker v Celtics game jas225, and your not happy because you didn’t get an autograph then you didn’t deserve to be there to begin with.
