SlimParticipantIf Evan Turner continues his bad play from summer league what should they do?
At first I had misgivings about that draft pick, but the more I look at it the more I worry…

gregoden08ParticipantPeople…IT’S SUMMER LEAGUE. Jerryd Bayless was the best player in summer league his rookie year and look how he’s doing. D-Rose was sub par and he’s a freaking all-star.
Turner is a hell of a player and he has an incredibly bright future ahead of him.

JNixonParticipantTurner was just growing into a role were he doesn’t have the ball in his hands all the time. He’ll be fine. Watch the games closely, don’t read the statlines. It’s more about the strengths and weaknesses being shown than statlines of players.

SlimParticipantThunder beat writer Darnell Mayberry characterizes Evan Turner as “coasting and largely uninterested” in Summer League action thus far.
Mayberry also heard from a scout that Turner “appears to need the ball in his hands to be effective,” and reports that the Sixers moved Jrue Holiday off the ball for stretches on Tuesday in an effort to get Turner in the flow. Turner may end up getting his numbers as a rookie in Philly, but it could potentially come at the expense of Holiday.
Evan Turner off to a much better start after having a pretty awful week thus far. Creating at will, killing Gordon Hayward off the dribble.

http://www.draftexpress.comNot crazy about the way Evan Turner is handling himself here at this summer league. Complaining non-stop to the refs, acting a bit aloof.

Bison 49ParticipantHonestly, with Turner’s skills I would not worry about a thing unless he is playing badly in his second year. The adjustments take time. At worst he will be a good player (15, 5, and 5) with tons of versatility, a team mentality. While it would be seen as a wasted pick, it would not be a huge bust (Detroit, Washington, Charlotte).
Look at Battier’s stats, and you don’t hear a lot about him being a bust. The statistical game did not work out for him, so he made himself valuable in everyway possible to his teams. Turner will be the same way, or he could be a Brandon Roy/John Salmons type of player.

SlimParticipantAfter Dalembert (who was alright in my opinion) got shipped off I was expecting the 76ers to go big…
and find someone big to contain Dwight
but they now have Spencer Hawes at center*—
I think the Sixers were expecting a number one option…and actually selected Iguodala-lite, how ironic. I used to be a Sixers fan…

*Also I’m hearing Elton Brand could be at center

TRC1991Participanti think the 76ers have excellent building blocks but they have too many tweeners and alike players…speights is a PF or a C? Young a 3 or a 4? Iggy a 2 or a 3? Lou williams a 1 or a 2? can turner play with iggy? can holiday lead the team? will brand actually show up?
too many questions in philadalephia

PlatypusParticipantbiggest question is if they can get rid of Brand and that awesome contract of his before it runs out

BiggysmallsParticipantUgh I hate when people say is this guy a 2 or a 3. Is he a shooting guard or a small forward…what the frick is the difference? Those positions are so interchangeable. Who cares if Andre Iguadala is a 2 or a 3, he is a wing. He can guard NBA wings. Sweet mercy people.

Bison 49ParticipantAgreed BIG … but the 1/2, 3/4, and even 4/5 question matters quite a bit more. The only issue with the 1/2 question is defence, but it all depends on who else is on the floor. That is why having a few versatile players on the floor makes all the difference.
For example, with Turner on the floor (I am guessing) that it will matter a lot less whether Lou Williams is a 1 or a 2.

ChrischiParticipantElton Brand was injured last season. I think he could be able to put up solid numbers this seasons.
Why not just bring Turner of the bench? He could play on-ball with the bench and off-ball with the starters. Like this his transition would be easier and that would take a lot of pressure of his shoulders.
