Michael.S.Participantwhat does okc need most frontcourt presence or shooting guard who should they draft with their 2 first round draft picks, imagine this line-up westbrook, harden,kd,jeff green, kristic or this line-up westbrook, thabo,kd,green, jordan hill or westbrook, thabo,kd,green, thabeet or westbrook, derozan,kd,green, kristic those are all monster starting line-ups and they can pick up another role player with their late first round pick where they can pick-up hansbrough, jrue holiday, casspi,or gani lawal,or maybe if he drops a potential starter in bj mullens,i predict playoffs next year or the following year. any thoughts???

sheltwon3ParticipantI like thabeet and Harden for this squad and I like thabeet more because I would like see Durant or Livingston at the two spot.

R-Dot-13Participanti think they should go with a big like hill or thabeet, cause i also like livingston starting with him and westbrook at the 1 and 2

Michael.S.Participantlivingston is good but he is more a point guard so i really dont think u can put him at the 2-guard spot and can you really pass on harden or the potential of derozan for a injury prone potential starter.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantThabeet or Hill are high priorties if they get anything but those two this draft is pretty much shit

R-Dot-13Participantit also all really depends on what pick they get too, they could get the number 1 pick for all we know, wouldnt that be dominating..

Michael.S.ParticipantI would love to see hill or derozan but derozan more because imagine russell westbrook throwing oops to derozan on the break and they would have and impossible to stop run n gun style with durant green westbrook and derozan and hill would be good also cuz hes versatile enough to play any style

MuggsyParticipantI think OKC is good on bigs for now, once Krstic gets back to how he used to be then we’re pretty set right there. Collison, Green, and now D.J. White is uninjured and will be in the mix next year. I think we need to focus on a guard. I’d say Harden or Rubio. I don’t like the “chance” of drafting DeRozen. Harden would be a nice addition, but the best scenario(in my head) is we get Ricky Rubio a true PG. Move Westbrook to SG, he will thrive there as a defender and scorer.
My First choice:
C. Krstic
PF. Green
SF. Durant
SG. Westbrook
PG. (Rubio)Second choice:
C. Krstic
PF. Green
SF. Durant
SG. (Harden)
PG. WestbrookThird choice:
C. (Thabeet)
PF. Krstic
SF. Green
SG. Durant
PG. WestbrookAll three of those are pretty formidable. As for the second first round pick, I’d just go for best left on the board.

wowthisisneatParticipantWith the versatility of westbrook, kd, green, thabo, the Thunder can do well with any position picked. I do though like a player such as thabeet who doesnt need many offensive touches to take away from the kids. harden is an efficient scorer who doesnt always need the ball to be successful. Presti should draft whoever is highest on his board regardless of position/need. But perfect case is obviously griffin or thabeet if they like him…
OKC true blue

boffacheeriosParticipanti promise Russell Westbrook will dissapoint you if he is moved to SG. He is able to do well at PG in a fast system on raw athleticism, but just an average to below average shooter and would probably be too small to guard a legit 2 guard such as kevin martin who is 6’7″.

joecheck88Participantokc has good bigmen, but none are really shot blockers. get thabeet if you can and get 2 bpg with him his rookie year.

mamadouParticipantThe team will be 28 MD under the luxury taxe, draft isn’t the only option, and there’s enough youth !!!(“the young big 3″+ thabo-white-weaver and maybe livingston), i let my 2nd 1st round pick, some teams need it(presti is clever enough).
Need size, need a C with rebounding and shot blocking ability, need a scoring SG as a starter or as a 6th men(offensive booster if thabo start at SG).
harden-chandler(unloaded from the hornets).
Thabeet-barbosa(unloaded from the suns).
Thunder luck 1st pick at the lotto, here we go….westbrook-KD-green-griffin-chandler(with watson back up PG, livingston back up as a combo guard, thabo playin SG, KD SF, green PF, krstic back up C and some PF, Dj white as a banger PF, weaver-wilkins some garbage time) .
Chandler traded against collison and 25th pick(hornets takes every days, they’re over the luxury taxe+ chandler is overpaid and suc. hard).
if you don’t take the youth and salaries factors, thabeet-thornton.0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/16/2009 - 3:28pm #150771

sheltwon3ParticipantLivingston is getting better from his injury is still talented and can play all 3 perimeter spots. He will allow Westbrook the ability to go off guard sometimes when it comes to scoring and Livingston can guard any player that Westbrook doesn’t. Okc has solid backups at the guard position and is mainly hurting with bigs. Someone long and athletic will help or someone big and powerful. To me that is all OKC should be looking at.

butidonthavemoneyI agree with BStar405. He left Griffen out for some reason but other than that I agree.
If OKC gets the #1 pick is there any way they pass on Griffen for Rubio?

sunshipballoonsParticipantplease… no top flight FAs are ever going to sign in OKC. Even if OKC is offering the max and nobody else is, a top level player can more than make up for the difference in salary with endorsements by playing in an actual NBA market.

MuggsyParticipantI left out Griffin because chances are we won’t get the #1 pick. Best case scenario is #2 or #3, and Rubio will be the best on the board here.
As for Westbrook not being a good SG I think you’re very wrong. Very few SG’s now days are pure shooters like Kevin Martin/Ray Allen/Ben Gordon, if you have a speedy agile driver at SG you’re in good shape, and that’s what Westbrook is all about. As for guarding someone like Kevin Martin who’s 6’7, I honestly don’t think he’d have a problem guarding him. Westbrook is much faster and has enough hops to make up for the 2-3 inches he lacks in physical size.
As for free agents you’re probably sadly right, no big names are going to sign here just yet, maybe in a year or two when Thunder become more succesful but as for right now I doubt it. Even though I’d love to see Carlos Boozer in a Thunder uniform, that would make OKC a playoff team as early as next season.
