Amare has come out and said he wants to come to New York and is pressing it hard.

Gerald Green is looking for a new home and the D’Antoni system can let him thrive.

I see a good chance that we take Jrue Holiday at 8 and I’m hearing we can/will buy another pick.

We will most likely re-sign Lee.

Harrington and Wilcox will stay for modest salaries.

    Lebron and/or Wade arent coming.

    2010- very versatile and athletic

    C- Stoudemire/ Wilcox
    PF- Lee/ Harrington
    SF- Chandler/ Gallo
    SG- Green/ Q
    PG- Holiday/ Duhon

love it. i really dont think were gunna be able to hold on to lee though. also i think if we take holliday like he showed at UCLA hell need some time to develop and Duhon will start over him. I think we need someone faster and that team really runs. and wheres hughes? hell start over green. and the back up power forward would be a big small forward probably like how the magic play so you could rotate wilcox at PF or Chandler when harrington is out

    Stoudamire/ Wilcox
    Harrington/ Empty
    Chandler/ Gallo
    Hughes/ Q
    Jennings or Curry/ Duhon

I think Ben Gordon for the right price would fit perfectly into D’Antoni system. Great minutes guys with tremendous 3 point range. Similar to what Raja bell did for Phoenix.

Hughes isnt there because he will be gone via free agency.

    I still want Green.

I prefer Jennings and now that he has the possibility of falling, I want him over Holiday.

This guy Victor Claver really impresses me and I hope we can jump into the early 2nd to take him. He has the speed/size/skill to play the 2/3/4.

    Still counting on Amare coming.

Alot of Lee trade speculation has led me to believe we can get an expiring contract and 2010 pick for him in a sign and trade. Walsh will take no less.

BEN GORDON STAY AWAY. Our system would be a good fit for him but he wouldnt be a good fit for us. We are already letting a fan favorite who is alot like him go in Nate.

I really like the idea of signing Ewing Jr. We would have space for him if we trade Lee.

    2011 Knicks

    Amare/Wilcox
    Harrington/Ewing
    Chandler/Claver
    Green/Gallinari
    Jennings/Duhon
    2010 first rounder for Lee

Love this team. Especially if Jennings/Claver/Green do what I expect.

Check out my updated roster. I know Jeffries and Curry are on the roster until 2011 but I dont see them playing much. I made a mistake on Q. I thought he was signed through 2011 as well. I think Duhon, Harrington, and Wilcox will sign very cheap. If not, we wont re-sign them. You’re wrong about Lee’s jumper too. He has developed a solid 18 footer. I think he will be involved in a sign and trade though anyways. We only have 23 million in guaranteed contracts of Curry, Jeffries, Chandler, Gallinari, and #8. Thats 35 million to re-sign whoever and get big names.

I’d like to take advantage this year and set up for not getting LeBron (cause we wont), I would try to do the following (based on rumors).

CHA wants to “gift” Okafor so why not reunite Larry Brown with David Lee.

Lee, Mobely for Okafor, Radmanovic, Mohamed

This deal nets CHA a potential all star and saves them ~12mil.

Then deal Nate for a pick in the late teens (PHX or IND)

Draft at #8 Holiday and at #13 Terance Williams

Buy two early second round pick at ~3mil each draft Harangody and McClinton

Trade our TPE to POR for Sergio Rodriguez

      2010 roster:
      Holiday/ Rodriguez
      Williams/ McClinton
      Gallinari/ Radmanovic*/ Jeffries*
      Chandler/ Harangody
      Okafor/ Curry*/ Mohamed*

      *Expiring contracts in 2010

Cap in 2010: ~53mil which is ~14mil under the projected 67mil cap. Can sign someone then or In 2011 ~32mil in expiring contracts. Can sign someone here.

None of those players you mentioned have contacts that expire in 2010. They have early termination options that none of them will exercise.

I meant they would expire after the 2010 season. That was a “If there was no LeBron in 2010” plan for what I would do.

    C- Stoudemire/ Wilcox
    PF- Lee/ Harrington
    SF- Chandler/ Gallo
    SG- Green/ Q
    PG- Holiday/ Duhon

I hate to say it but Amare might come here, hopefully he signs with some West team he plays lil D and has bad knees.

If this is your 2010 lineup you plan on signing Duhon and Q, Al Harrington keeping Lee & Wilcox doesn’t make much sense to me. Lee and Wilcox neither have much of a jump shot, ppl high on Wilcox but he’s a 6th man at best to me.

I don’t like having Q on the team he’s old and shot is erratic at best. So with about 23-25 mill in cap room the Knicks get Amare, Duhon, Q, Green, Harrington interesting. I don’t see the numbers adding up 15 for Amare, 6-8 for Harrington, 4-5 for Duhon, 1.5 for Q and Green each also Holiday around 2.

Knicks can’t afford Gordon he is either going to Detroit or resigning with da Bulls.

I think people are forgetting about Jeffries and Curry one will probably be moved by Walsh though.

I’m not wrong about Lee’s jumper he’s inconsistent at best.

    2011 Knicks
    Amare/Wilcox Harrington/Ewing
    Chandler/Claver Green/Gallinari
Jennings/Duhon 2010 first rounder for Lee

Your signing Duhon, Harrington, Amare, Green with all that cap room. Where is the defense Harrington, Amare don’t play much. I like Harrington’s offensive game and since he’s a local guy he probably wants to stay here. Green, Gallinari at the SG? I do like the Jennings pick and trading Lee for a 2010 pick.

    How about this roster

    Gortat/Curry
    Bosh/Ewing
    Chandler/
    Johnson/Green
    Jennings/Lowry
    2010 draft pick

I think Walsh might have to move Galinari to save some cap room to sign Bosh/Johnson also I think he moves or cuts Jeffries, you have 3-4 talented guys in Bosh, Chandler, Johnson, Jennings.
Also a shot blocking center in Gortat and Lowry as a back up pg.

How much do you think it will cost to keep Lee in New York? $9 million a year.

For 9 mill I’d rather go after Odom though obviously it would have to be sign n trade

The knicks as for the 2010 draft are w/o a first round pick (bc of the Marbury trade), but have 2 2nd round picks. No one can say that Lebron and/or D-Wade aren’t coming. Lebron is very hard to read you never know. Gerald Green is wack. He is just young, and can dunk. I’d rather give Hughes a 1 year extension over signing Gerald Green, maybe he could come off the bench.

quit talking about Amare coming to New York, he’s very good but not a cornerstone.

Hughes and Lebron do not get along together. Why isnt Green worth a 1 year minimum contract? I’m not saying he’ll start but he is still young and could still be good. He can do more than dunk. Its retarded to say that one of the top-5 PF’s in the league cant be a cornerstone.

i say gettin amare would be a good start but you will need more because he isn´t a real cornersone i agree to that so you either have to get another good FA or make someone an all star and that´s why i would go with rubio, derozan or jennings this year because of upside! they both could be good and together with amare bring the knicks back to be someone in the east (not a contender but still good).

thats the reason why i would hate getting curry he could be good but he won´t help the knicks much in becoming a serious playoff team. i would love getting derozan or possibly rubio (i don´t like him but he could be a real good player)!

    starting lineups:

amare, chandler, derozan, hughes, rubio (trade lee or robinson for him)

this team would need to get a sg/sf to replace hughes (maybe green if you want) but i think this will be a good start what do you say?
