HitsterParticipantEnes Kanter the would be defensive colossus if he ever learnt to play defence is the 17th highest paid player in the NBA. Whilst current MVP Steph Curry is only 58th highest paid.
We cannot feel too sorry for Steph as he still earns $11.37 million before the IRS takes their cut and no doubt has the odd endorsement or two and will likely get a mega deal in two summer’s time.

HitsterParticipantIronic that Kanter earns more than Curry!

ChewyParticipantCurry couldn’t stay on the floor to save his life for two whole years before signing that deal. He was too injury prone to deserve high level money.
No one could have predicted that he would even be able TO PLAY the minutes he did this year, let alone the WAY HE PLAYED during those minutes.

Mr. HookShotParticipantI was actually wondering; when the Warriors and Curry signed that contract, was in insured? Meaning that if Curry would have struggled with his ankles for the remainder of the contract whether the Warriors would have been covered? If yes, than I applaud the Warriors for being very, very smart when they offered the contract. If not, it was quite a big gamble (but one which paid off in hindsight).

HitsterParticipantThe Warriors extended Curry in October 2012 after he had had an injury hit 2011-12 season where he only played 28 games, so that now turns out to be a great piece of business.
In all other seasons Curry has played between 74 and 82 games, so that one year excepted, he has been very durable.
The interesting point could be will Curry risk waiting until 2017 FA market to extend if GSW offered him a lucrative extension between now and then. I’m not sure how much below the new max they could offer him. I’d guess he’d wait until 2017 as he’s 27 now, will be 29 then so his next deal could well be the one mega deal he can get in his career.
