KG looks horrible! His numbers are down and he’s getting older BUT JJ Hickson is stealing the ball from him in the post?? One-on-one and Hickson just takes it from him??? Or the turnover on an inbounds pass from KG? He’s not even into it mentally much less physically.
Doc needs to consider playing him waaaay less if they want any shot in the playoffs. When they won the championship KG was the heart and soul of that team, they took on his identity and Pierce became a better player. He’ll never be that guy again but Boston still needs him.
I know PP didn’t play today but why is ‘sheed even allowed to shoot at this point? I was rooting for the Cavs today and everytime Wallace shot it I knew it wouldn’t go in. I can just picture the whole Cavs team shouting “rebound!” as soon as it leaves his hands. He’s playing like the 5th guy at the Y that everyone allows to take 3’s because he’s going to go 1/10 and it’s better to give him an open shot than anyone else a contested one.
Loved Garnett on the Wolves and gained even more respect for him those first couple years in Boston so I don’t mean to hate, it’s just hard to see.

KG isn’t himself and you can see it the most on defense. He used to be able to check guys on the perimeter, but now players are able to drive right past him…

I think he’ll retire after his contract expires in 2012.

Last time i checked they are still the 3 seed in the east and still playing well without Paul Pierce. He is not his usuall self with the injury but he still plays with more heart than 99 percent of the league.

It is really true that players coming out of high school usually put too much NBA miles on their legs and would usually regress in nearly 30s and close to retirement by mid-30s. The miles really showed on KG. I wonder if this would also happen to Kobe in 2 years.

Pierce can score all the points he wants …and Rondo can rack up all the assists & steals..But unless Garnett is healthy and playing well..They will not be winning anymore titles

OH Yeah..doesnt Pierce look like Beetlejuice from Howard Stern show?

Injuries can hurt you more mentally then physically sometimes, and that seems to be the case with him… he’s got it in the back of his mind and he’s holding back, it takes a long time for that to go away, sometimes it never does.

They should shut him down until the playoffs they would still get a 2-4 seed and KG could possibly get near 100%

i think this eventually happens to all bigmen that rely so much on athleticism. I mean KG can still knock down the midrange shot but its harder for him to finish inside and harder for him to rebound, block shots, and hold his position in the post. Same thing with Shaq, the same will probably happen to Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire too. I think that KG can still be very productive, he just has to get used to his new game which will be more fundamental. For the same reason, I think Tim Duncan is and will continue to age so well. Yes he has dropped off but not as much as KG. TD is already used to playing fundamental because he was never the best athlete.

It is hard to see for sure, like my man Shaq. As a kid I idolized Shaq hardcore, it’s tough seeing him 36(maybe 37?) slow and injury prone. Same with Garnett, and others I grew up to.
