JoeWolf1Among many others Cole Adrich is an example of a player who made an enormous jump from his freshman to sophomore season last year. Who are you guys following or looking at to make a similar jump? Ed Davis is probably the popular pick right now. I think Ralph Sampson III and Kemba Walker can make a significant jump. Any incoming sophomores you guys think will burst in the lottery talk for next year or 11′?

Michael.S.ParticipantI like this post, and I agree on the 2 you listed with Kemba Walker and Ed Davis
I will add Paul George to the mix as well.0- Posted on: Sat, 08/29/2009 - 10:51am #207366
td8118ParticipantAlof of people give Paul George love, but i think Devin Ebanks is gonna make a huge splash into stardom this year….I could see him being Big East Player of the year, his games alot like Gay but a better rebounder

cprizz15ParticipantDevin Ebanks.. dudes a monster hell average 10 plus boards.. and will compliment desean butler very well. the muscle of a very good WVU team.
also watch out for mike rosario to make a splash in the big east putting up HUGE numbers

Michael.S.ParticipantEbanks is good , but I don’t see star qualities in him, plus it’s easy to be grab boards in college , that changes in the pros as seen with Durant, and Bealey just to name a few……..that’s just my opinion though

JoeWolf1I know he put together a pretty solid freshman season, but do you guys think he is going to put up monster numbers this year or do you think he’s kinda plateaued? I didn’t get to watch Georgetown a lot last year and he seems like a pretty intriguing prospect with some serious upside
0 - Posted on: Sat, 08/29/2009 - 10:59am #207371
Michael.S.ParticipantPlateaued? Nah
he will put up better #’s and improve, but we kinda know what to expect from him by now.

JNixonParticipantI expect Samardo Samuels to have a good season at Louisville this year. I think he realized he needed moves to be a better player in college, because he cant just bulldoze all the time like he did in HS.
The guy everyone is sleeping on but I expect a major jump in production from is Wesley Witherspoon of Memphis. He will be a lockdown defender first and foremost, but he has legit point forward skills and crazy quickness and ridiculous length. He needs to continue to get stronger and work on his jumper, but watch. He will be a 1st round level prospect by 2011, and I’ll say “I told you so”. haha

PaulsJayhawksParticipantBeing the focus of the offense I think he will have a great break out sophmore season. Hes big althletic and will gain by not jumping to the pros.

Lemons4LifeParticipantDefinitely him, but I also like the future for Malcolm Lee, a guard for UCLA who was on the bench last year because of Holiday and Collison.

jeff416ParticipantI think Ebanks, Davis, Aminu, Witherspoon, Hopson, and Monroe will have breakout years. But I will have to go with Elliot Williams as the player that will have the biggest breakout year. He is very athletic and now that he is at Memphis he should be the go to guy in there offense. He has great athletic ability and he has improved his shot he is my sleeper pick for POY just watch he will surprise everybody on how good he is.

JoeWolf1Samardo Samuels, Clark and Williams are both in the NBA, He is a big body and a competent scorer. I think he’ll be putting up at least 15,8 and 2 next year for Louisville.

JNixonParticipantBoth Samardo Smauels and Welsey Witherspoon broke out my man….so no. Greg Monroe and Aminu weren’t the only guys.

JoeWolf1Holy Crap! I predicted Samuels would average 15 pts, 8 rbs and 2 blks and he put up 15 pts 7 rbs and I was a little off with 1.1 blks, but damn. not too bad.
Kemba Walker went from averaging 8.9 ppg and 2.9 apg to 14.5 ppg and 5.1 apg he had a big jump
