I know its way early to start talking about Free agency options in the offseason but I have one that has been on my mind for a while. Harrison Barnes to the Blazers. I honestly think this would be an excellent fit. They have built a similar culture to Golden State and Lillard attracts similar attention from the d as Curry. It would be a chance for Barnes to be promoted from 4th option to third behind Lillard and CJ. They could move Aminu back to energy role off the bench.

Barnes will clearly be coveted this offseason as quality SF’s dont grow on trees. He could easily go back to GS and would also fit other places like Pelicans and Grizz, But I truly think his best choice would be Portland.

    Thoughts?

Barnes will have his share of suitors this offseason.. even if he asks for a deal north of $17 million per.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Portland sniffs around Hassan Whiteside. The Blazers have the cap space to sign both him and Barnes this offseason. Plumlee has played well this year, but they could net an asset for him in trade this summer… and IMO Whiteside would improve this team’s ceiling moving forward quite a bit.

They just might grow on trees.

    LeBron

    Durant

    Kawhi

    Carmelo

    George

    Giannis

    Harward

    Gay

    Batum

But yes Barnes will be sought after.

I like your idea SamCarlson, i thought lakers-celts, but the blazers and their backcourt are a way better fit for him.

He’s a follower, he could follow but reach his own ceiling at the same time…

3rd option 17 pts ish, high octane, open floor, he’s a west coast player.

@high floor, sure they’ll sniff but Whiteside will end in a bigger market…lakers, bulls, mavs, rockets, celts, heat.

They could give another 58 MD contract to Hibbert….

I still cannot believe Barnes turned down that offer from the Warriors. He really isn’t that good !!!

His stats and shooting % are not much better than Allen Crabbe..

Lillard got a max contract but the Blazers built their team on good value contracts, I just cannot see them wasting 18-20mill on Barnes.

I would rather they looked at Fournier or Jeff Green. Zaza or Noah as backup centre.

I know its highly unlikely but would be ironic if they signed Kevin Durant (since they passed on him to draft Oden)
