Evan Fournier is a highly rated combo guard from France and he had planned to take part in the mass workout this weekend in New Jersey, but he will skip it due to an ankle injury, reports the New York Post.
According to the newspaper, Fournier was hurt on Wednesday during his last French League game and he left the arena on crutches.
ESPN.com’s Chad Ford has Fournier rated as the No. 30 best prospect for the 2012 draft.

He was the only player participating that was projected to be a first round pick by Chad Ford. The other guys seem like guys hoping to improve their stock by showing something against their peers. Chances are that Fournier would have had more of a chance of hurting his stock unless he played exceptionally better than his peers. He still has the European camp in Treviso as a possibility, but I think his missing this does little to hurt his stock.
Renardo Sidney is scheduled to attend the New Jersey workouts….On his Facebook page he says he’s lost about 19 lbs since the end of their season..And says there’s a great chance he goes in the 1st round….lol..
But I cant wait to see him at the combine,doing those drills…Becuz he’s as skilled as any of the top prospects…
He just wasted The M.S.U coaches staff time and energy by being a Fat Ass…
I actually hate when players get "Refocused" right before the Draft or Free Agency
I find it shady that these guys can’t get it together until they’re looking at a Pay check at the end of the day
I would make a guy like Sidney work for every thing he gets in the NBA, I’d say let him go undrafted and see if he has the work ethic to make someone’s roster in Training Camp, make the kid work for his spot in The NBA and maybe he’ll respect the chances he’s been given
As for Evan Fournier, I don’t like his chances in the NBA, he’s a Sg with no outside shot and I think he’ll benefit from a weak International Draft Class, last year was a deep crop of International guys and besides Fournier I’ve never heard of most of the other International Players
i think missing The NJ camp will be a good thing for his stock as he remains an unknown commodity, he had the chance to be exposed by lesser named prospects…

19 lbs. for a guy who probably spent the season at around 6′ 10" 330 lbs. is called "a start."

That is a bunch on nonsense. Fournier is looking to be a first round pick, and said if he isn’t that he will pull out. The only way a guy can get a proper read is to get out and play. There is no universal big board, and I assure you that there is not a great deal of separation in standing at this point between him and other 2-guards in that workout.

The most important thing for fournier is to be effective at trevise… cause that’s where you create your opportunity to be a first round pick.
As I always explained (here) several months ago the nets are said to be high on fournier and would have make him a "promise" (and we all know that it doesn’t mean so much right now) to draft him at the end of the first round.

The issue is Brooklyn has no draft choice in this range and in the early 2nd round… so we can expect them to be very active and trade during the draft process (as thay did last year in order to get bojan bogdanovic).
Bouna NDiaye (his manager… and of lots of french prospects and pro) has recently announced there was another team than the nets (drafting at the end of the first) interested in fournier…
Fournier is the most talked about foreign player right now….He’s so overrated..But this time next season,people will be asking how did this guy Nemanja Nedovic slipped to the 2nd round? MARK MY WORDS!!!
I have three other euro’s ahead of Fournier. Satoransky, Nedovic and Aldemir. His game/ skillset doesn’t really standout to me, and he’s obviously trying to hide it a bit.
What is there to be excited over for Nemanja Nedovic? He is a 6′ 3" combo guard who can’t shoot and had a middling season in the Adriatic League. Other than a huge game against Cedevita, his performances against the stronger teams of that league were quite poor.
Nemanja Nedovic has a better jump shot than people think..His excellent penetrating ability and shifty ball handling will play much better in the nba then overseas where coaches are more strict and try to teach the young players to play more fundamentally and not as flashy..Thats why Rubio never posted outstanding eye-popping numbers……
He’s not on many mocks, but i still like Nemanja Nedovic. He’s got very good physical tools. Good strength, speed, incredible bounce. Good form on his jumper with combo guard skills. Needs to keep improving his PG skills, especially his ball-handling.

In his final year in Spain, Rubio was a 36.4 percent shooter and a playmaker with a 2.2:1 assist:turnover ratio in the ACB. As a rookie, he was a 35.7 percent shooter and a playmaker with a 2.6:1 assist:turnover. A player’s role, minutes, and possessions on the court might change, but abilities don’t change overnight. Nedovic has never shot better than 28.6 percent from three in the Adriatic League. He has never had better than 1.6:1 assist:turnover, and this year was 1.1:1.
Agree with BTPH about nedovic…
he’s a good euro prospect for european team but not enough promising for the nba… Fournier has some holes in his game but is still very young and has played a major role in his team. He’s smouth when you watch him driving on the offense and has always developped his game.
Aldemir is a very promising prospect but there is a strong buyout issue with him… that should prevent him from being a 1st round draft pick (he’s not mirotic).
