Flynn to debut in D-League

As we noted earlier this week, the Timberwolves were contemplating sending Jonny Flynn to the D-League once he was ready to debut this season after offseason hip surgery.
And that’s now definitely the case. According to Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Flynn will play for the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday.
The plan from there is for Flynn to join the Timberwolves at some point next week. Minnesota plays New York on Monday, Oklahoma City on Wednesday and Detroit on Friday.
Backup PG Sebastian Telfair has been battling a case of plantar fasciitis, so Flynn’s addition to the lineup should provide more depth stability.
Flynn started last season at point guard for the Wolves, but it may make more sense to keep Luke Ridnour in that role for the time being as Flynn eases back into the NBA game.

I am impressed how Flynn is taking this. Not many guys are humble enough to go from starting to playing in the D-league. He is a really classey guy and i hope he comes back better then ever!

Terrance Williams is also going to the d-league. What has happened to the lottery picks of 2009. Already 3 of them have reported to the d-league. (Thabeet, Twill, Flynn) I think its a clear sign that the 2009 draft really was weak. Extremely week

Well I don’t think Flynn really counts with Thabeet and Twill, he is only going to the d-league because he is coming back from an injury. He hasn’t been demoted or anything.

Flynn and TWill has legit NBA skills and talent right now but still the D league is not really bad and Twill is a punishment thing and Flynn is a coming from injury thing and Thabeet could blossum unto what Hibbert is doing in like 2 or 3 years.
