kobyzParticipantthere are 19 names lock to make the first round: Jahlil Okafor, Justise Winslow, Tyus Jones, Frank Kaminsky, Sam Dekker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, D’Angelo Russell, Kristaps Porzingis, Emmanuel Mudiay, Stanley Johnson, Myles Turner, Cameron Payne, Kelly Oubre, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Bobby Portis, Jerian Grant…
that leaves us with only 11 spots left in the first round and every year there’s at least one name who was profiled to likeley making the first round and then surprisely fall out of first round(Glenn Robinson Jr, Cleanthony Early, Clarckson last year) … who is gonna be this time? is it Looney, Harrell, Rozeir, Wright, Anderson or RJ Hunter???

Magic JordanParticipantIf rumors are any indication I would say if Christian Wood fell out of the first that would be a surprise. He will be a great risk vs reward pick late in the first early in the second

Mr. HookShotParticipantI believe Rozier will fall to the second round, together with both guys from LSU (Martin, Mickey).

cycloParticipantI know Tyus Jones was an NCAA tournament darling, but his game reminds me too much of Jordan Farmar.
He also tested poor athletically.
26.5 standing vert, 32.5 max vert. and 11.89 lane agility testing rank him near the bottom of point guards. No lateral quickness. He’s not going to defend anyone in the NBA.
He’ll probably be a first round pick, but I think guys like Joseph Young, Terry Rozier and Olivier Hanlan could turn out much better.

TRC1991ParticipantI could see Hollis-Jefferson actually sliding, due to his busted jumper

cuseflynn10ParticipantHarrell is the guy I think could slip on draft night. He may not fall out of the first, but with the way I see things shaping up, I’m not exactly sure who is going to take him. Chances are some players out of Portis, Looney, Dekker, Oubre, Anderson, Hollis-Jefferson, McCullough, Christmas, Wood, and Martin will be available around picks 19 and 20 which are the first two spots I think Harrell could potentially land. He could go to Washington or Toronto, but I feel there will likely be better options there.
Dallas, Chicago, and Cleveland all could go for PGs (I have Grant, Wright, and Rozier mocked there).
Memphis needs a shooter more than a rebounder, though they could possibly land Harrell if they want a rebounder to replace Gasol who could potentially walk I guess.
San Antonio probably goes with a draft and stash in order to pay all their core players and not have to dish out a guaranteed contract this season, though Harrell could be in play if they are willing to pay for their pick this season.
The Lakers already have Randle and likely Okafor, so I doubt they go for Harrell at 27. They could, but going for a PG or wing would make more sense.
Boston needs a rim protector. Harrell has a good wingspan that compensates for his lack of height, but there are better rim protectors available at #28 most likely.
Brooklyn could go for Harrell to replace any of Young/Plumlee/Lopez, all three of which could be gone by the start of the season (though I’d have to think one of Plumlee and Lopez will be back.) But it’s possible Brooklyn likes another PF since there are a lot projected in the late 20s and early 30s (McCullough, Christmas, Martin, Mickey, Wood, Alexander, R. Holmes, and J. Holmes.
Golden St. really doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses so if they keep their pick, they could go best player available. This is where I personally have Harrell falling, but I could definitely see him slipping even further if Golden St. doesn’t view him as the best player available.
Harrell is a one dimensional player in my eyes. He can certainly carve out a career as a high energy rebounder off the bench, but I don’t see him doing much of anything else. There are a lot of power forwards for him to compete with in his projected draft range, and his height, potential ceiling, and even some hiccups at Louisville could work against him when compared to other power forwards in his range.

AKtheLawParticipantI noticed he wasn’t on your list of first round locks but he’ll be going in the 1st round for sure.
Another name you didn’t mention was Rashad Vaughan. I’m kind of torn because he’s someone who could end up going late lottery but you never know once you get past the lottery who could potentially slide. I don’t see him sticking around to the 2nd round though.
It wouldn’t be much of a slide, but I’ll pick Justin Anderson to go in the 2nd round.

drpleasantParticipantIf GM’s are smart RJ Hunter will fall into the second round, maybe even the mid second.
He is known as a shooter with a good basketball IQ and not to many other NBA level traits. Problem is his release on his jumper is very low and kind of slow. I don’t see him being able to successfully get shots off in the NBA unless he’s wide open.
I have him pegged in the early 40’s

piratejpParticipantI agree that Harrell is going to slide into the early second. Deion Wright is my dark-horse candidate to slide out of the first.

nill650Participantjones,martin, hernangomez etc are not locks for the first at all…and will all probably be early 2nd. as far as what prospect of the "so called lottery locks" that could fall alot but not out of the first is lyles, turner, and kaminski…and a strong possibility into the early 2nd is rj hunter and rozier. (along with upshaw, and wood) who both are already sliding into the 2nd.
with that being said the prospect who come as the biggest surprise to most falling out of the first and with the highest likelyhood of it happening is devin booker…this guy is way overated.
