Its that time of the year again! The playoffs are here and I wanted to see what the experts here @ NBADraft.net think is gunna happen in the first round! I want to know your picks and the matchup your looking forward too! Here are mine for the west:

Spurs vs Mavs – Spurs 4-1, The MAVS got way better this offseason picking up another goto scorer in Ellis to pair with Dirk…there’s just one problem, they have no answer for Tony Parker.  Calderon and Ellis are below average defenders and they are gunna expend so much energy guarding him. I think eventually you will see Marion guarding Parker.

 

OKC vs Grizz – OKC 4-3, This is the matchup to watch in my opinion. KD wants revenge against a team that is flat out TOUGH. It will be interesting to see the matchups too, bc both Tony Allen and Prince can guard Westbrook and KD.  So even though OKC has a healthy Westbrook, I still see this series coming down the the 4th quarter in just about every game. 

 

GSW vs Clips – Clips 4-2, I think the loss of Bogut is a lot more damaging then most people think. When he is out of the game, GSW is gunna have to shoot the lights out now bc they will have absolutely no rim protection against the highflying clippers.  I still think the way the Clips play with absolutely no real sets in the halfcourt still will not win in the playoffs after this round, but too much CP3 and Blake for a short handed GSW team and the Clips can just prevail based on talent.  I think the real key will be if Thompson and Curry can outshoot the paints points from CP3, Blake, and the rest of the Clippers.

 

Trailblzers vs Rockets – Rockets 4-3, Another great matchup that should be very entertaining, this time its the two best offenses in the league battling it out.  I’d be surprised to see if at any time during this series, either team hits under 100 pts.  Both teams have so many offensive weapons, I dont really think its gunna come to defensive stops, its just gunna come down to who is gunna score more pts.  And I gotta give the edge to Harden, eventhough Lillard and Aldridge can hold their own.  The matchup to watch for in this one is definitely Matthews and Harden.  If Matthews can make Harden guard and not just stand around all day, the Trailblazers could pull it out.

 The Warriors-Clips match up was going to be THE series to watch considering how intense heir games are. Upset that Bogut went down, killed GS’ chances of going to the 2nd round.

Mavs-Spurs will be cool because of Dirk and Timmy, but the Spurs overpower them on both ends of the court.

Thunder-Grizz will be entertaining.  Great defense against one of the greatest scorers ever.

I really dont think Harden will be able to outscore BOTH Aldridge and Llillard, his playoff percentages are bad. If Harden flops all day and he plays his usual "no defense whatsoever", I like Portland’s chances of making this an actual 7 game series with a great finish to two offensive teams.
