canesboy6ParticipantI just wanna start off with this. Im not freaking out about my Heats slow start. Not at allllll. I’ve been calling for Spoelstra to step down all summer, and wholeheartedly expect it around the all star break. Anybody who thinks Pat Riley is going to let Spoelstra eff this up doesn’t know much about Pat Riley. Spoelstra is one of the least respected coaches in the league, I’ve been told by a player I cant name (worked a camp with him). This was last summer, not this summer.
Last year in the playoffs, it was apparent how badly outcoached the Heat were against the Celtics. Wade was playing some of the best ball of his career last year. As good as when he dominated the league on his title run in 06. In coaches cams, it shows players not listening to him during Time Outs. I’ve seen Wade at least 3 times i can specifically recall just blow off his out of bounds play and do his own thing. He draws terribleee plays, when we have a last shot, its comical. Last year, literally twice that I saw, we had a last chance off an inbounds and the best he can do is find Wade around halfcourt running full speed to his left. Would have taken a miracle for him to even hit the backboard.
Bottom line is guys like Wade and James are going to need a guy they respect in the playoffs, or it will be a mutiny. Guys like Van Gundy, Rivers, Poppavich, and Phil would Eat Spoelstra and his high school tendencies alive in film study. The dude is a rah rah guy, give him pom poms and let him Shout DEFENSE with the cheerleaders. He is losing that teams respect, and its been going on for years. Watch Wades face when that guy draws up a play. Seriously.
Let him go Coach in college, I bet hed be a top 10-15 coach. Way over his head at this level, with this kind of pressure.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantBut last year’s Heat team had no business winning 47 games with the talent they had. They had Wade, sure, but the lineup was rounded out by Jermaine O’Neal, Carlos Arroyo, Quentin Richardson and Michael Beasley, one of the 3 worst supporting casts I’d say. I give him major props for what he helped them to last year. But yes, I agree it’s definitely time for him to step his game up or he’s donezo.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantI think you should just wait until they are about 24-7 or 23-8 going into their Christmas date with LA, which will probably be good enough for best in the East, and then reassess whether Wade and LeBron respect Spo.
