bobbygiller"Michael Finley has decided to join the Boston Celtics and will sign over the next few days, an NBA source told Yahoo! Sports.Finley is expected to sign the prorated veteran minimum in “the next day or so,” the source said.
The San Antonio Spurs waived Finley on Monday after he expressed frustration about his limited role with the team. The Celtics were interested because they needed another shooter off the bench."

IndianaBasketballParticipantAll the talk is about how Finley will help and fit in offensively… I wonder how he’ll fit on defense though. That’s where the Celtics have been struggling at.

bobbygillerThe Celtics are #1 in the NBA allowing 94.1 points per game where as they are 18th in the NBA in 3 pointers made and Finley’s main asset is his 3 point shot. In all honesty Finley likely won’t get more than a handful of minutes off the bench but brings some insurance in case of another injury.

quinceyhodgesi dont think this really helps much if at all. this is a guy who couldnt get time behind roger mason and keith bogans. i dont expect him to get much behind toney allen and ray allen. and if you put him in you lose youre scoring, shooting and defense that ray allen provides. i think his even average days are behind him. im sure he’s lost a step or 2 even from last year so i doubt he will be able to stick in front of anyoen in the playoffs. but maybe im wrong and he will turn back the hands of time but i wouldnt bet on it. real cool guy though. one of my bros friends. his hs team was tought for those who are old enough to remember…my brothers college teammate used to play on the team with him(donnie boyce)…it was finley sherell ford and donnie boyce. they all played in the nba at one point or another. imagin facing that kind of talent in hs. three athletic wings all 6’5 and above

B-ball fanParticipantHe should help. Daniels and Tony Allen can’t shoot at all. He can space the floor and play at the same time as Rondo.

MDOTFREEParticipantthis move doesn’t really do much. he doesn’t have much left in the tank so really ur gettin him just to have another body at da swing positions. he may help if they are down late in a game and DOC needs to draw up a play for a game tying/winning 3.

McWinningParticipantHonestly they dont need another veteran their teams problem is they lack the energy because pretty much all of their players are breaking down. They need a younger player who can run the break with Rondo, honestly it seems like Perkins is their second best fast break player and thats pretty bad.

NYK2010ParticipantBirdzilla lets trade in the Sim league.
Finley signing will help giving Allen or Pierce a couple more minutes rest thats about it.
The move can’t hurt though.0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/04/2010 - 2:02pm #263022
NYK2010ParticipantYou forgot about Nate he is a high energy combo guard who can run.

McWinningParticipantWhos on your team? And who do you like on my team?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/04/2010 - 2:10pm #263024

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Celtics are still #1 in the NBA in points allowed, but they’ve struggled defensively since the All-Star break. Teams have scored over 100 points in 5/9 games. They look old on D right now.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantFinley makes the Celtics older and I dont think that helps much.

NYK2010Participantlol someone put negatives on all my remarks on the Sim league.
Like getting Finley does anything what the over/under on him actually playing 10 mins a game even.0 - AuthorPosts
