Sixer gotta go get this kid. I would be surprised if when we wake up on Tuesday he is not on the Sixers. Archie is head and shoulders better than any guard the Sixers have out there now. They are the worst outside shooting team I have ever seen!

Goodwin is a career 22.7% three point shooter, don’t think he is the answer to the 76ers shooting problem. Still a good prospect though

i thougt for sure the lakers would keep anthony brown and yi jianlian, both had gauranteed contracts for a combined 2mil and let thomas robinson and metta walk with metta getting a spot as an assistant coach since thats where they value him. Robinson is a for sure nba player, but he duplicates what they already have in tarq black and yi was a 7 footer who could space the floor and i thought he played well.

However im not upset at all, metta is one of my favorite personalities to ever play the game and i value his toughness. Robinson busted his tail and does all the dirty work, glad for him. Yi asked for his release when he realized he would be a third stringer so if thats his attitude, then its best for all parties he go elsewhere. As for brown, he was young and played the game the right way taking smart shots and was a solid defender. But he just was along for the ride, hard to see him getting any pt especially with the surprising resurgence of nick young in preseason.

I would find it really hard to believe the Sixers would pass on Archie Goodwin. He is hands and feet better than anything they have at guard right now. Im sure that Colangelo being a big part of the Phoenix scene does not know all about him. We shall see.

Agreed, the Sixers have to take Goodwin, especially now Bayless is out for a month. The Nets could really use him otherwise. The Sixers should also look at Alonzo Gee too with Simmons out indefinitely..

Being a Suns fan, I was very excited about the Suns drafting Goodwin near the end of the 2013 Draft.  He was the youngest player selected that year and everyone in the organization understood that it would take time befor Archie would make an impact for the team.  Well three seasons in and Archie has not developed into the player that I thought he could be coming out of Kentucky.  Physically, Archie has gotten stronger and was one of the most athletic players on the Suns. The problem with Archie has always come down to two things, basketball IQ & shooting.  Throughout his 3 seasons, had the worst feel for the game when he was on the court and that hasn’t changed.  He looks for his own shot almost every possession and only passes the ball when he is unable to get up a shot.  His athleticism has never translated on the defensive end, as he gambles too much and is a liability defending pick and roll situations.  His 3pt shot and free throws are underwhelming and he has make little to no improvement in that area of his game.

Maybe it was the optimist in me but I thought with development Goodwin could be a Larry Hughes type of player but it never clicked in Phoenix.  Maybe he can turn it around in his next stop (he is only 22), but I for one am not surprised that he was cut from the Suns.

I think it was hard for Goodwin being so far down on the depth chart during his time with the Suns.

Given an opportunity to play with the Sixers I think he could flourish, because it’s not like he’s any less of a long-term answer than Bayless or Rodrigues.

The biggest mistake Hinkie made was not replacing MCW with an actual PG when there are always a plethora available, it really stunted Noel’s growth as a PnR player.

Archie may not have proven much I’m Phoenix, but he did show potential to go get points on his own at tumes, the NBA IS still an offensive driven league, why not add a potential Scorer in Goodwin?

Joel and Jahlil can most certainly score in a variety of ways, Saric can also put up some points when asked, he’s a terrific spot up shooter already, now we need a Guard that can score 1 on 1 from time to time, I believe we’ll land the PG of the Future in this Year’s Draft, I’m pulling for Dennis Smith and Market Fultz to really push for the #1 PG ranking, also Lomo Ball intrigues me, great size, great passer, great athlete, if he can shoot and play solid defense I’d like to take a long look at him wherever we land…

I feel like Goodwin would fit next to any PG and Ben Simmons if they use him in a Wade like role offensively, slashing and isolation plays off Ben and the Twin Towers
